Superfrog.
There was no save function back then so you just have to keep starting over and over and over and over...
Probably not what you meant though.

Well... It isn't a bad game per se... but... well... "Super Mario Avatar" was a very fitting nickname for it.
It still has a great atmosphere, a good, very mature, story. But the controls are, well, "wonky". And this is probably nicer than what most of the old fanbase said when it came out.
Also, get the new HiB. Those games are really great.

I never get bored of the Infinity Engine games, so I don't care much about replay value. Btw. they still have replay value since for example you can play Torment with different playstyles (once you can be a killer, once you can be the apostle of peace).

Well, most of the time I will use walkthroughs, so they may not be that long. I guess I missed the OP's question part about "a game to last you several months". In that case probably Soulbringer? I was told it is kind of long. I have not played the game so I do not know.

If you insist upon collecting all the flags and other items and activating all the view points, Assassin's Creed can take a very long time to complete.
Unfortunately, it's also an exceedingly repetitive game that does not play anywhere near as well as AC2 and AC:B did. I'll get around to playing the newer ones probably next year when I go home.
