BadDecissions: And when the right holders of the games start writing GOG testy letters asking why they've decided to give away their games for a cent? I mean, it's a cool idea, but I don't think it's feasible; the publishers have their rights, too. (This is also the reason that every time GOG gives away a game for free, and people ask if they can get a
different game for free if they already own the one, the answer is always no.)
I must confess I don't know much about placing games on the market, and even less about GOG's obligations towards the developers. But it seemed like a neat idea to maybe entice more people try games they would have otherwise overlooked. About the reward for the GOGmix winner, it's purely arbitrary, of course.
It would be interesting to learn how much GOG will profit from this PWYW scheme. I'm sure there are many players who will pay a bit more than $6 for Unfinished Business because it's a great game they feel attached to/nostalgia for, but for each one of those, there are a dozen people who will pay just $0.99 because they can get away with it. So it's risky business, but I still like the concept.
