Leons Campaign: NOT SCARY because I fight like I'm a martial Artist and I have a fucking partner with me and Aiming and moving among others

Chris' Campaign: Call of Gears of Evil Duty War

what a piece of mainstream "made to appeal to all taste" accessible trash/shit

the leon campaign was trying to appeal to what I want from resident but still it has to many things from action games to ruin it

The Resident Evil series lost any semblence of being anything other than a mainstream action/horror series a long time ago. I don't see why we're still complaining about it. I personally have just been ignoring RE6.
I never understood the popularity of the old RE games. They were good games despite the horrible controls, contrived "puzzles" and awkward writing. I personally like the "new REs" more than the old. While they're "only" 3rd person action games nowadays, they are very good at being those.

Because it spear headed the survival horror genre leading to silent hill, fatal frame, and it was scary listen to the ambient music from re remake

Funny, I always thought that Alone in the Dark did this. Which was, unlike the RE games, actually scary.

Resident Evil was nice, but the series fast became over-hyped and bland.

Oh good god why oh why do they keep releasing new games like this? Resident Evil has been done to death (pun intended) and really should be stopped now. I think people have played that many games like this that we get a thick skin and nothing scares us anymore. So it just becomes boring.

The games are stale, and the movies are stale. The last movie btw was the worst movie I have ever been a witness to. >.>

Alone in the Dark (the first one mostly) laid the foundation, Resident Evil perfected it

Damn, I was writing almost the exact same thing and you ninja'd me.
RE1 wasn't scary BTW. It was campy as hell and I doubt it was unintentional. Starting with RE2 they tried to be more serious and the REmake really improved the atmosphere. I wouldn't say it was scary though.

At least explain how the Remake was not scary for you so I can understand better

They should have stayed with campy, it suited them a lot more. RE 2 and RE 3 were also kinda nice, but not really scary. Heck, System Shock 2 or the Zombies in Thief TDP, that was freaking scary.

This is why I like the recent ones more, they just said "screw it, lets have fun again!". And it worked.

System Shock 2 did not scare me one bit no comment on Thief though

but honestly I don't see the horror element in System Shock 2 especially since I fight robots and the Many flesh creatures except the giant brute thing
I loved Resident Evil 2 Platinum (PC) Though...

At a time, it really made me break into tears (in a good way). As a wanna be game programmer back then, I was humbled. But I'll blame it to 'Gender War'.

Someone want to guess or want me to spell it out why? :-)
You want brown trouser scary then go for Siren Blood Curse on the PS3.

I love horror genre whether its movies or games and and nothing ever phases me, odd bits may briefly startle me but thats it. Siren though is by far the creepiest scariest game I have ever played to the point where it felt intimidating. When it comes down to survival you have to think on your feet, not a lot of ammo about so running away and hiding is a viable option.

Silent Hill 1 & 2 have their moments (cat in the locker anyone), the sound is what helps the Silent Hill games and the dark setting really makes you feel alone.

What's to be scared of? The zombie threat is there but the in-game documents do a great job at explaining exactly what is happening about the nature of the threat (T-Virus, Umbrella, etc.). Besides, the REmake gives you enough tools to survive the threat like all kinds of weapons, herbs, you can even burn corpses to avoid having to face the crimson heads. The game would be scary if it left something to the imagination and if the weapons didn't make you feel as if you could take hundreds of zombies on your own.
