pimpmonkey2382: I actually like 2 more than 1 in some ways.

Novotnus: The premise is much better... the ending twist was nice... but the execution is not that great. They - at least for me - failed to make Curtis a likeable character. Actually, of the cast only Trevor was a nice fella that I liked...
I liked that 95% of the game was on location rather than blue screened, liked the music better (especially the first apartment and borerline club themes), I actually thought it MIGHT have been better if they didn't delve into the sci fi stuff and maybe kept it as some sort of psycho killer.

triock: And King of Dragon Pass. :p

But don't listen to Licurg, buy Wizardry 8!

Elmofongo: Don't forget Postal 2.
THANK YOU!
Shit, I was beginning to think I was the only sophisticated one here! :O
We're all very sophisticated gentlemen here!

Good points. Still, 1 at least tried to put some real world logic into the puzzles when 2 greets us with rat-wallet-candybar at the very beginning :). And it's very true - if they made it as a psycho-thriller or at least left the sf elements more open for interpretation.
And if you like those not-sure-what's-real-slowly-going-insane games, I might recommedn you Downfall :)

Was he supposed to be a likeable character? I had a feeling that he was designed to be that way: an irritating as hell guy but actually it's not so easy to describe why he is that irritating. And boy, there are a lot of people just like him ;)

For me the game was great up to the last chapter. For me it completely ruined the story. I think they chose the most trivial sci-fi element and frankly, it didn't even fit well. pimpmonkey2382's idea sounds a lot better for me.

Are you assuming I have Postal 2? if so than no I just said that because its one of the 3 games Licurg always recommends to a new user.

Not yet :) I just got home so I have about 2 gallons or 3 liters of coffee to drink ( oh look FK right in the coffee, you see that, Zach?)

I don't mind good paranormal or sf elements... but this one wasn't that good.
And I'll repeat myself: http://www.quiethavenhotel.co.uk/ :)
(hopefully coming to GOG soon :))

I need to watch my fingers, almost gave you a nasty spoiler :)
And if the scene works for you, you'll have another subiect for speculation :)

I gotta say fishing in Deadly Premonition is quite fun and relaxing since you get that nice theme to go along with it :D

Agreed up until that last chapter i was absolutely loving it, still love the game as a whole anyway. But up until that chapter it was firing on all cylinders.

I didn't find curtis that irritating IMO, and I did like trevor a lot he was hilarious.

Hell yeah! Let's listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzvXBFwcyek
(but try fishing... and you'll start to hate it :) and you want to go fishing if you want some nice piece of equipment)
Hell, I think it may have been better if you find out it was curtis himself that was the killer. (not the sci fi version.), keep it grounded in some sort of reality, and since he was a bit nuts anyway. Or another idea, maybe wyntech doing it, and having a corporate coverup and basically setting up curtis to be the fall guy or something.
