Before I buy any game not in a bundle, I check sites like Indie Bundle Wiki to see if it was in a previous bundle so I know if I have it. I have bought a couple games on other platforms after forgetting I had them already, but those times they were different versions atleast. (Had MGS2 xbox and forgot when I got MGS Collection PS2. Also KOF 98 on xbox live when I got the PS2 one in a clearance bin.)
Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is hands down the best mod for rebalancing Oblivion. You might want to check it out. It changes the gameplay significantly.
i used to do this with music all the time. come home to file away a new CD, to see i had it in my collection...

games were/are a bit different. games were so expensive when i was growing up; each purchase was a big deal to me!

Bloodygoodgames: Anyone ever come across games, either digital downloads or boxed, that you have no recollection of buying?

Cleaning out some stacks of CDs and DVDs this week I came across The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and its expansion packs. I have NO recollection of buying it, but obviously I did. It's still in its wrapper too, so at least I can't say I've played it and forgotten.

Never played it. Now I can. Totally excited as I wanted to play this before I bought Skyrim.

Anyone else?
I've, ahem, rebought games that I thought I did not have...

carnival73: Smells like a Christmas or Birthday Pressy someone may have hid and you accidentally found. XD

I seem to have 'manifested' back a couple of games I felt bad about selling, both of which I was 70% sure that I did.

Had any passing desire for Oblivion during the week leading up to the find?

Bloodygoodgames: LOL, no more than normal.

And it's definitely not a gift. The only person who ever has access to my apartment is my maid, and she doesn't even know I play computer games. Plus, if she was to buy me a gift it would be something to do with my rabbits, as she takes care of them when I'm traveling and loves them more than her own kids :)

Don't think my boyfriend has been here for years, either, as we normally hang out at his house - it's a lot bigger :)
Bunnies!!

If it weren't for them chewing on electrical wires you could let them run free, use a litter box and they run to greet you at the door just like dogs (had a couple as a child).

BadDecissions: I bought Dead Space off Steam during some sale, only to later realize that I'd bought it off Gamersgate during some previous sale.

ne_zavarj: Have you activated it on Origin ?
I don't do anything with Origin unless I'm forced to; it's not that I hate it (my experience with Mass Effect 3 was innocuous), but between GOG, Steam, Gamersgate, Desura, and various bundles, I have so many games spread over so many services, it's ridiculous; I don't need another.

It's the chewing on every conceivable thing that drives me nuts with mine. I have two. Had them six years and they are ENORMOUS because they eat so much :) But I love the little buggers to death -- just only let them out a couple of times a week under heavy supervision or my entire apartment would be one mass of teeth marks.

Don't feel too sorry for them though! Their cage is massive with 5 bunny chairs (they love to sit on chairs at night when it goes cooler), lots of boxes to climb on and tunnels to run through. It takes up half my bedroom, I kid you not. Sometimes, even when I open the cage to let them out they don't venture anywhere, as they love their cage so much :)

BTW - thanks for the Oblivion mod info everyone. Am taking copious notes!

Ha, our (my and mi wife's) bunny is not chewing on anything, ever. The little bugger is of a bit passive kind, even tho we've tried to entertain him - he's just lazy. But hey, at least he's not chewing on anything, so he can run free all day. And bite me in the leg. I used to think he hates me for whatever reason, but right now I swear it's just entertainment.

Anyway, I promised you a small modding guide - it does change the experience quite a bit from the original, however. It's a lot harder and time-consuming, and also grants you prettier graphics and some tweaks, fixes, things like that. If you want, PM me your mail.
A couple of days I looked over my GOG receipts, and found a receipt for Sacred Gold. Now, I knew it was on my shelf and all, but I assumed I got it during the JoWood sale, as there is where I got most of my random games that I don't know anything about. Turns out no, I didn't. And it wasn't a random game code I snagged from the forums, a gift, or anything like that. I paid actual monies for this, and it was the only game in the purchase. I have no recollection of doing so, but I guess I bought it with the real intention of playing it. Haven't added it to my Backloggery either. Strange.
