For our American bretheren, who may not be aware, or have friends or loved ones in the affected areas. Google have launched an interactive map with helpful details on it.

Be safe please.
In my experience with hurricanes (dozens of them) this is really exaggerated.
Thanks for the link, Ian.

I am right in its path. I think I'll be fine where I am, but there are some low-lying areas around here that are greatly concerned about the potential flood damage.

I would advise anyone who still needs supplies to go get them right now. It only gets worse from here on out, and from tonight into tomorrow night going outside may be completely out of the question.
Have a part of it above me now, the only worry is power outage mostly so loss of food and a tree splatting me mostly
Barely grazes my area, but I'm working from home just in case.
Thanks Ian. Home today, like most people in the tri-state area here, All schools are closed, stock exchange closed, and in NYC, all mass transit is now shut down. I lost power for 5 days after last years Irene (have a generator though, which is great), and in all probability will lose it again this time. I'm about an hour North of NYC, and the wind is bending the tree tops pretty good up my hill here, but fortunately, most of the leaves are down as it's late fall, so no trees down yet. Got my 30 gallons of gas for the generator, fridge full of Coronas, and gaming computer ready to rock, so I'm all set ;-). Wishing all my fellow GOGers in the tristate area well, and stay safe! Here's a forecast pic some friends of mine were passing around a few days ago, before the storm slowed down a bit, and the big left turn was forecast ;)

Thank you, I'm in the path as well, pieces of it are starting to hit in my area (Maine).

LOL @ the attachment. I live under the "screwed" bubble. I got a bunch of beer, books and my Game Boy.

Dun dun dun.
I live in Western Mass, so the brunt of it is going to miss us. Only real worries here are power outages and heavy wind knocking over trees.

Hope everyone in the path of the hurricane stays safe.

I think the updated "bubble" would cover me as well, lol. Speaking of books, ironically have Carl Hiaasen's "Stormy Weather" which has been sitting half read on my nite stand, next to my bed for a good 2 or 3 months, cuz I can't keep my eyes open long enough to finish it at bedtime, lol. This might be a good time to finish it up :D. Hang in there bro, and keep those brews frosty ;)
Think about how much cooler the NY subway system would be if you went around in submarines instead of trains.
It's really wet here in Maryland. The sump pump is getting a work out.
I truly and honestly hope all stays safe and takes care during Hurricane Sandy.

With sharks instead of rats...
