fortune_p_dawg: I made an attempt back in early/mid 2005 to forgo the typical gaming scene and switch almost entirely to PC indies. I reasoned that I'd save money buying significantly cheaper games, that because the games weren't corporate franchises they had more soul, etc.
I did this for like six months, and after playing games like Clash & Slash, Break Quest, and that game with that stupid frog boy thing... I'd be willing to take 1947321854 copies of Machinarium.
Yeah, my purchases are almost strictly from bundles and GOG sales now. Let me tell you, that's not saving me any money comparing to buying a single AAA title every month or so.
My backlog is way out of control though, so I guess that's something >_>
Quality wise, there are very many excellent indie titles, just gotta sort them out of the rest.
