fablefox: Be careful, a teenager in Canada post things like these on his facebook and got jailed with 500,000 bail money.

You might not have an anon with 500,000 to spare.

Crsldmc: I saw this not long ago, what's happening with this world?
TL,DR :

Idiot breeds, smart one died out.

I wanted to talk about long version, but these are the thing that is not politically correct. But I think there are words for it. The differences between human and animal is that in animal kingdom, its the survival of the fittest. Technology and science however allow most human to survive, and there have been correlations that the smart one didn't breed much.

And politics.

If you follow the comment thread to this article, you might learn something, and also keywords to help you google more on this.

stonebro: Wolf3D, DOOM, Duke3D, Blood, Heretic, Hexen, Witchhaven, Shadow Warrior, Strife, Redneck Rampage ... they're all better than modern shooters.
QFT even if wolf3D feels a bit dated now.... Sadly the state FPS is in these days even mediocre games from back in the day are better then 95% of the shooters now in terms of gameplay. It's sad for me because it's (i can almost say this in past tense unfortunately) my favorite genre...
I agree, OP. I just re-played Doom on my iPod, and I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I've been playing several very old shooters the past year and they are more fun than expected. I don't like any modern shooters.

tinyE: That was a stab at all the people who blame video games every time one of those things happen. I don't mean any offense to the lives touched or lost by those tragedies; the people who blame them on DOOM however deserve all the ridicule they can get.
It doesn't matter. It's enough for some woman in Canada to see your post and report it to the US authorities for you to get arrested.

As for Doom, haven't played it, probably will never play it, but thanks for the recommendation. It's a different style of game than modern shooters, I agree with that. Modern shooters try for a story experience, and are more linear. For non-story I prefer the UT games, but I can understand those who like the map/secret areas/lots of enemies style of play.
Doom will always be my favourite FPS game, no FPS game since Doom has held my attention so well. Duke 3D came close, but the rest of the game just falls flat after amazing shareware episodes. Blood was good as well.
My godfather (who was also partial to PCs and even a bit of PC gaming back then) managed to try the shareware episode before me. I recall him saying "This is great... but damn it is very violent.".

I think I should show something like FarCry 2 to him. Do you still think Doom is that violent?

Some woman in Canada? That seems a little specific. :P Why not some guy in Minnesota?

Incidentally, as screwed up as this country is it is still a free country. We don't get locked up for things like this.

that's just it. A 19 year old from Texas was, which sadly proves that you can be arrested. last I heard some anonymous person paid his bail, but he is still awaiting a trial almost 6 months later.
This is the dumbest conversation I've ever had. Think I'll break tradition and actually stick with the topic forum here. :P

The incident coxdr mentioned. You can read about it here.
Good source, "The Daily Caller". XD Such high standards if journalistic integrity you have there.

I mean it this time, I am going to stick to the topic from now on.
