undeadcow: House is a blast but more a zany absurdity than what people typically think of as horror so while worth seeking out it demands an open mind.
Folks might enjoy it who also enjoyed the series of
A Chinese Ghost Story movies.
tinyE: I especially liked "The Screaming Skull" as it actually came with a public service announcement regarding the need for a coffin should you be 'scared to death' while watching the movie.
Agreed. Even with the MST3K treatment, there is something jarring about the way
The Screaming Skull is filmed and paced. It seems to want to disorient the viewer from reality along with the heroine, much as
Carnival Of Souls does.
tinyE: Attack of the the Eye Creatures
doccarnby: Fixed that for you.
Edit: Also going to throw in everything that William Castle did.
+1 for both of those. It's good to see Castle getting recognition again, even if it is via a series of (mostly) mediocre remakes. I will admit to enjoying the remake of
Thirteen Ghosts however, as well as
House On Haunted Hill (Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen & Jeffrey Combs, say no more).
