I hear that man. I almost died in Dark Souls too!

'twas park_84, who is quite the ninja actually.

That was the last one for today, so you can give GOG's servers a rest from now on.

lugum: But it differs if its a bug that was already in the game or got introduced in the gog version.

wpegg: It's not really either. I suspect it was always present, but the devs did not account for processors to be so fast.

Thanks a lot! :)

gameon: Is that the only issue? It seems to be the main problem from looking at the silver forum.

I have a spare athlon single core pc with xp. Would that be ideal for this game?
No need to swap processor, you can probably use something like CPU killer.

Don't use that one with a modern CPU, there are better (i.e. less dangerouses) alternatives.

Please do. I lost my original copy during my ill advised purge.

Dangerous? Must have missed something....not sure how can it be dangerous, care to explain?
Also what are alternatives?

And whats cpu killer? lol
Should've guessed.

CPU killer is program that eats your system resources, so other programs are effectively slowed down due to lack of resources for them.
But I guess we should wait for Psyringe if there is any risk involved.

gameon: Sounds like a usual anti virus program, lol
lol
I don't think Eset Smart Security eats that much though...

Sorry, I was busy in another thread.

My memory is a bit fuzzy on that one. I did a day or two of extensive research on CPU-slowing software a couple of years ago. I seem to remember that CPU Killer was developed specifically for one line of CPUs, sending them a specific command, and that doing so could be dangerous for newer CPUs.

Back then, I decided to use Mo'Slo instead, which did the job.

However, these were the days of single-core CPUs, and I don't know if Mo'Slo is a good alternative on multicores. Also, my info on CPU Killer may be outdated, or even wrong in the first place. In any case, I would suggest to do a bit of research on these programs (with regard to one's CPU), just to be safe.

Sorry if I scared anybody with the rather unusual brevity in my previous post. ;)
