sbenrap: I'm very saddened to see Spate in this bundle, I have been a kickstarter backer for this game and saw all the blood sweat and tears Eric put into the game just to see it sink into obscurity.
I had thoughts of developing games in the past, but his experience pretty much killed it for me... I truly hope that game gets some recognition.
chean: While I understand the sentiment [of being sad to see something you helped kickstart bundled after a relatively short time], I think there may be another side to it. While it probably equates to little in dollars and cents, being part of a Groupees bundle may be what the project needs to not sink into obscurity, as it will likely put it in the hands of thousands of people who wouldn't otherwise have given it a try. If only a fraction of those people discover that they like the game, it could mean a significant word-of-mouth boost to sales over time. Of course, this is just me speculating.
While that may be true if it was in one of the Humble Bundles, Groupees bundles usually seem to sell less in overall copies and average amount paid. So yeah, this most likely will not make much revenue for Eric. I hope you are right though and that it boosts the sales somehow.
As for the reviews, I admit I haven't finished the game yet (damned real life getting in the way, oh, and Tex ;) ), but from what little I played I loved what I saw.
Reviews where mostly favorable as well -
