keeveek: Yeah, there are many games on RPG maker site, but I don't know which are good, because ratings are not helpful (low amount of votes)
I need to play some free games FIRST, then decide wheter to buy something similar or not.
I've bought Cthulhu Saves the world and Breath of Death VII for 2 euros in total, so 20 USD is a killer price to me :P I'm not THAT interested in old-style RPG games yet ;-)
20 is way too much for a game like this. My limit is 10 if the reviews are glowing. The Aveyond games I linked are all $7 and DRM-free as far as I know.
If you are unsure it is standard practice to include an hour demo with nothing locked. That should be sufficient time to figure things out given not much changes since JRPGs are very 'by the numbers' so to speak.
Edit: I remembered a free one Rampant Coyote featured on his site. The Last Scenario is the name and it can be found
here.
