Any recommendation? Something similar and close to Fallout 2?
I'm probably wrong, but the closest thing to Fallout on here at the time is probably Arcanum. I just can't think of anything that's all that close to Fallout.
I think Arcanum is the best suggestion, but technology + choices, makes me think of Deus Ex.
Not RPG really, but you might like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

Come to think of it, they do feature RPG-7's. =P
Planescape Torment is a really good one.

ROFL... If S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has Mutants. that's enough. :D

Sounds interesting. :)

The Geneforge Saga and Arcanum are the closest of all I've played, although they have different settings .

People have been suggesting Arcanum to me for years, I still need to get that and play through it.

It's very good, very story oriented. The NPCs have a lot of backstory etc. I played through Planescape Torment after Fallout 2 back in 1999 when it came out, I considered each my favorite RPG at the time of playing them. Not much has ever taken the crown since then.

According to your suggestions, then I'll buy Arcanum.

A must-have game?

Personally, I couldn't play it after a while because it's just not easy on the eyes. Just something to consider, watch gameplay vids.

Roxolani:
Sorry, I missed this. If you're looking for oldschool caliber RPGs, then you're not going to like Invisible War, and perhaps even Human Rev to some extent.

It is. And music is composed by Mark Morgan.
Arcanum indeed in terms of gameplay and all. But Wastelands is also a fantastic game set in what was to become the Fallout universe, but expect an Ultima IV gameplay and interface.

Arcanum + Planescape Torment.

Any non-GOG?

Then I should check all of them, but Arcanum will be my number one.

Keep in mind, Arcanum is buggy as hell tho .

Planescape is a must-play for any RPG fan, but more for the storyline than for anything else .

None I can think of.

Both games are excellent. PT is more story-driven. Arcanum, yes, it reassembles Fallout in a gameplay. And it’s steampunk. No matter what game you plan to play first - just DON'T FORGET to play the second one.
