I am using a laptop and am using wireless internet. If I were to play a game that I got off of GOG for at least an hour, I would notice that it prevents me from going on to any wireless network. A short term fix would be to just restart my laptop and then I can connect, but I would like to know if there is a solution to where it just never kicks me off.

If you're really thinking, this comes from a GOG game, then, at least, name the game or else no one can even try to help you.

You probably have your wireless set to power saving. It will not reconect if it goes into sleep mode. You should change your power saving plan.

Well to really look at this we will need more information, but I think your best bet would be to launch a support ticket, if it really is an issue from GOG then they need to address it and they can take a few days to respond, better to launch the ticket sooner so they see it sooner.

Wireless power saving or possibly playing a game that long is causing the laptop to heat up and the wireless card ends up needing to be reset.

Does it happen playing any other games?

I do not play many games from GOG, but the three I use are Capitalism, Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, and Alpha Centauri... all of them have shut off my internet in that fashion.

And how about other games aka: games from other distributors?

I don't know about the internet but GOG shuts down my ability to get off my ass, turn off my computer, and do something with my life. :D

I agree with the others, it seems like your wireless connector shuts down after not being used for some time. And in contrast to Steam GOG games don't need to connect to the internet.

GOG exclusive, never happened to me on Steam or disk games or Desura before.

My first thought is having Steam or Desura open in the background is causing network traffic and keeping your wireless adapter on where as a GOG wouldn't do so.

Do you have Steam and Desura closed when not playing games on them?

Never had that problem myself, nor do I know anyone who had it.

Sure it's not a pure coincidence? I mean, shuts your internet more or less regulary down on other occasions (aka not while in playing)?

I can assure you I am not trolling, I am just a guy looking for a possible solution to a rather irritating problem.
And for the coincidence thing, it surely isn't. When I find I have the internet error, the spot where it shows my wireless internet connection, it shows me an icon which I have never seen until started playing games from GOG.
No, I do not have either of those running at the same time as the game I'm playing from GOG.
