Exactly this. Now that the truth comes to light, I can kind of understand why he would fake claim. Quite a few people were reluctant to share what their clues were until they seemed to demonstrate some kind of use with amok's claim.

Whilst I'd still be happy to vote amok for lying, I'm a little more concerned at just how quick people are ready to jump on this particular wagon without putting too much thought into it.

Given that aniseed balls are not made for dogs, should not be given to dogs, but does show in searches to have an effect on some dogs. However the official wiki articles and encyclopedia's makes no mention of it. I would find it more interesting who made the dog relation to them..oh wait it was amok...

Looking at the real article it makes no mention of dogs... and aniseed balls are quite popular in for instance UK () - making it not unlikely that it simple is just a candy name and no value for judgment can be gained from it. Still a lot of that will also depend on amok's true role/faction.

If I was scum, what I would be doing now is to continue the charade and say have I "sniffed" someone's clue and that the clue was not right.

I can't "sniff", and I am not going to lie about someones clue when I can not prove it. I can say I do not like a cle (like Rob's), but I am not able to prove anything. I feel it is better to be honest with this now, and not get anyone lynched just to keep my cover.

That is a very good question, but I can't work out a town motivation for this. Seriously, why would town claim neutral and then tack on "oh but I have a town win condition". Add to that this weird thing that he's trying to do with the aniseed balls clue and I just can't see how he could possibly be town. And well, if he's not neutral then that only leaves scum left.

If you somehow are town then you should be ashamed of some of the worst town play I've seen in a long time. Explain the ever so strong link between dogs and aniseed balls and why it's weird that Rob's clue mentions aniseed balls if there's no dog.

I thought it was a well know fact that aniseed has the same effect on dogs as catnip has on cats. I knew it from childhood.

I personally had never heard of that. Anyway, the question is : was this "common knowledge" for Robbeasy (or do we have reasons to assume so). And also, the link may be weakened by "has a taste for" (depending on what it paraphrases).

Mmm, but aniseed balls are an old fashioned sweet. If catnip had been mentioned with no cat, yes I'd be suspicious but the mentioning of aniseed doesn't particularly suggest the presence of a dog. There's nothing weird about aniseed balls in a game with no dog.

I didn't know that until Darko posted it (it might be well known but certainly not as well known as the effect of catnip). But as I say above, unlike catnip aniseed is a spice consumed in many ways by humans so it's not particularly indicative of there being a dog, I still think you're trying to divert attention onto Rob.

I grew up with dogs, so it may be more a connotation for me than "common knowledge". But I did find it suspicious back when I first read that clue, and still do. Both for the reason of the aniseed connection, but yes, also because of the Bianchi part.
