I was distracted by the final boss of Etrian Odyssey 4, Robbeasy is presumably still ill, what are everyone else's excuses? :P

I have made up my mind, and so far seen nothing yet which have changed it. I am a single-minded, stubborn person... and so I have nothing much new to say really.

I am more wondering why does who do not vote, do not. I did wonder the same in the other game also. Casting a vote at some point, and need to justify it, reveals something about you.

Well I think for a lot of people it might just be that they haven't re-cast their votes since the reset, but you're right that there are some who don't seem to have cast any serious votes yet.

I have not had the time.

ARGHI want to drop the Vitek thing now, because it doesn't seem to be going anywhere and maybe I am just being stupid about it, but then WHAT IF??

Robbeasy: Defensive about something earlier, aggressive about Vitek. I happen to know that this is normal for him. I'm going to try and have a game without suspecting Rob. If he IS mafia then I trust yous to get him on your own.
Flubbucket: Aggressive at Vitek. Not making much sense. But I've known what it's like to be so convinced that someone is guilty that you obsess over every little thing, exploding it in your head. I don't know.
Vitek: Ever the voice of Sanity and Reason. He's written to things that could be interpreted and Mafiesque, but they'd better not be because I'm ignoring them now.
QuadrAlien: Didn't mention me in summary. I'm offended. QuadrAlien is probably mafia. Everybody vote.
QuadrAlien's predecessor: I can't actually remember who it was or anything that they did I'd better check.
gkaiser: Don't tell us about your character! Keep the information away from the mafias because the less that they know about Town's lineup the better. Not getting involved enough but it's difficult for new player.
amok: has said some things. Done a bit of supersoftclaiming. Don’t do this either! The less information the mafia have the better. Giving even harmless flavour away could be used to construct a more believable false claim. His supersoftclaim is believable enough though. Could it be something a Mafioso is given as a falseclaim? It doesn’t seem like the sort of thing. In which case amok is probably Town. It’s nice to be able to say that. But what price have we payed? Don’t do this fellas!
CPSVG: ummmmm… I can’t remember? Has been keeping track of who hasn’t been active? Oh yeah! Got into an argument with…. The other guy. I think they’re probably both town. Was that Darko?
Darko: I don’t think has been replaced by quadralien? Doing fine – struggling with It’sMyFirstMafiaGameAAAAH and coping very well. Had an argument with the other other guy. Probs town I say.
Sprimalform: Not lurking? V. suspect. Has suspicions about everyone but I can’t think what they are.
JMich: Has said something about…. No I can’t remember…. It’s at the top of this page let me check…. Ah he’s suspicious of SirP. Fair enough and makes a good point. JMich is in my ‘could be mafia’ pile.

Ugh, it is worded kind of oddly. While it could be a slip, as good as Vitek's English is it's not his first language. It is believable that he meant the town as in everyone here on the boat (after all, scum are still in the town, they just want to control it).

But with the "softclaim" as well (which I interpreted as a joke at the time and responded in kind), I agree it does begin to form a picture. As Joe points out, it's a nice innocuous thing to throw out so you can point at it later to back up a false claim. Of course the alternative is that he is our backup doctor and we've buggered everything up.

I'm also not sure what to make of Flub. Was that really just miscommunication between him and Vitek, a scummy case against a townie or a distancing tactic between buddies?

I'd like to hear a little more from Flub so I'll leave my vote where it is just now.

@Rob's 247; That's very weird reason to vote someone.
I go the idea of you thinking that SPF and me are scum team from you accusing us both for the same thing and your accusations made little sense to me without us being on one team. I even thought you said it somewhere but it looks like I misread something before.

@flub's 249; no, you said I am coming with crazy theories about zombie doctor being around while I clearly said to amok that our doctor can't be around becuse he would have to be zombie and I highly doubt something like this is present in this game.

@joe's 260; Yeah these are actually quite good.
I wouldn't use "you" as it would looked like aimed at Rob because I was talking to him and I rarely use "all of you" and similar but I could have used "everybody" but to me it meant the same thing as what I used. :-) I can understand why this would be better, though. But it would require me to think over my every word to forsee there will be some problems with it and I don't have reason to do that as townie. ;-)
Rob part - I think we have problem here. I am doing very similar thing to you. I was convinced of him being scum in G14 and he was town, so when he was absolutely scummy in G15 I gave him some slack and he was town again so I am kind of ignoring my suspicion of him here but this way he will just get free pass from everyone.
Vítek part - I often feel like I am the only sane person around. Not only in this game but in most recent ones. :-p
QuadrAlien's predecessor part - it was kkreo and only thing he did was to accuse ma and SPF right after Rob accused us and then he dropped out so I kind of suspect he couldn't handle mafia role.
I feel in this post Joe overreacted a bit too much to softclaiming and I feel it was artificial reaction. Can't exactly put my finger on it but it rubs me wrong way.

@SPF's 261; I don't really know waht to make of you. You are fence-sitting on several things really hard. You could understand my ambigious sentence and it at most made you raise you eyebrows and you never believed my make-up post was soft claim but suddenly
it looks like soft claim to you and as slip too and make me look bad?
The gkaiser situation wasn't much better and now you are saying how you are willing to go with flub any way. It looks more and more like you are just trying which way will this game swing to follow its course.

@gkaiser; I too would like to hear the answer to CSPVG's question.

If you say "The Town" it implies you're talking about an actual Town (and therefore the people within the Town)" if you say "Town" it seems to be a proper town - like the name of a group of people. In a newspaper you might read "The Town was in uproar" but you wouldn't read "Town is in uproar" unless it was referring to a band or a group or something like that who were named Town. That was just linguistics and nothing really to do with the game.

I think I UNDERreacted. Usually unnecessary claims really annoy me, and actually this time I've been letting them go by without really thinking about them. It must be because of where my head is at the moment and how busy I am. Well. When I was doing a more general overview I thought I should probably mention it. And it's true. You should NEVER claim - no matter how soft - without good reason. If it might prevent a mislynch okay. If you're power has got you information then maybe fine. Part of a mass claim yeah alright.

I meant genuine in the sense that it wasn't based on other people's arguments at that point, just my own observation. So although I was dismissing some arguments against you, I was still genuinely suspicious of you but not very suspicious (at the time).

There's not really any grammatical rule that means that adding "the" would have made it clearer, but to me "the town" would look slightly less suspicious. I have to admit that I didn't pick up on the 'slip' at all, unlike your 'softclaim' which Robbeasy apparently thinks I was serious about.

The problem I have in mafia games is paranoia. I tend to end up suddenly getting worried that those I've been reasonably confident about are actually playing me for a fool. This crept up on me while writing 261 which (took place over a couple of hours and) is why I start out saying that it's believable that it wasn't a slip and then end up more suspicious of you than I was before.

On their own your two 'things' seemed inconsequential.
I didn't think your so called softclaim was a softclaim at the time, but I currently feel somewhat naive for just considering it a joke. It was Joe's falseclaim seed argument that convinced me there was something in the claim idea (funnily enough I didn't get to post it until after he decided you were fine, but I still think there's something in it).

Urgh. I do want to hear more from Flub but to put my vote where my mouth is (and call your bluff maybe?), unvote Flub, vote Vitek. No face-sitting here. ;)

You should already know that I am no fan of any claiming whatsoever, but you are acting like it's end of world and just a little too "anxious" about it.

Something about your last post seemed a bit like you were sort of challenging me, the stuff about fence sitting and so on. A bit "Well go on and vote for me then!", so I decided to go with it and see what happens. You're not vengeful are you?

Right. There's two completely separate interpretations of your make up thing going on here.

I originally interpreted it at face value as a joke, the logic in my reply was "If that was a soft claim, what role might have a lot of make up? Well, mafia roleblockers are sometimes called prostitutes or 'dancers'".

The other interpretation is reading your comment as saying that you can make up for the lack of Doctor. If I'm not mistaken, this is how Rob interpreted it and also how Joe interpreted it. After thinking about it some more I believe they have a point. So my mentioning of a backup doctor is part of that interpretation.

Sure. In context of all things it makes perfect sense. By saying "Don't worry I have a lot of make-up" around the end of RVS I softclaimed doctor, because it would be great quote to use later to solidify my position after I claim it, and the I went and dismissed amok's theories about doctor to make my claim more believeable.
