I do not have alignments.
I have character names, Roles & flavour expaining how I know these people.
I do believe that Baz is town.
Of the others, I believe #2 is town.
#3 I had assumed was town, but looking at it objectively, they could go either way.
#4 I suspect is likely to be scum.

Ok then, with that said.

Right now, I'm very suspicious of the people who are coming out and pretty much pushing multiple Mafia as our primary setup. Why? Well, the main reason right now being that it's muddying the water, a lot. You can't trust that the townies are the only ones doing honest scumhunting. You can't trust that the guy leading the lynch is town, it's just a huge barrel of wine that the only people capable of supporting at this point are Mafia.

Now, I'm not going to say that there isn't a possibility, or that we only definitely have a single Mafia, but I think our focus should be scumhunting. When we have proof of more then one mafia, then we should look into it deeper.

I also thought about Baz's role and it being a mafia role. I think, if we look, it's very possible to have a paranoid doctor be in the mafia, since they act like a Roleblocker as well as a doctor.

I'm going to unvote Jefe because I don't think it's going to get anywhere. I need a bit of time to think about who I'm most suspicious of since right now I have absolutely 0 town reads, and few neutral reads.

At the risk of shooting up your suspicions list, I think the reference to the "Shattered Hand" clan in the NK flavour is what people are taking as proof of there being more than one mafia, or at least more than one anti-town faction.

But I do agree, I already mentioned I'm not sure how this knowledge will realistically impact our ability to scumhunt...

Hmm. It was Robbeasy who pulled up this theory again in #631 by asking Baz outright if he agreed with the multiple mafia scenario, after asking for precision on his "in all probability there's at least three of them" quotation...

The problem is, it's been brought up so many times over and over that it's hard to piece together when one discussion of it ends and another begins. I have my views on it, and with it being possible, I can see people wanting to try to figure out every angle. Of course, I'll have to save posting those for when I wake up and finish things I need to do.

Should we really be worrying about the possibility of multiple mafia right now? Seems kinda useless since we haven't even seen if the next nk has a different flavor.

I do agree that all the theorising about multiple mafias is inherently scummy, even when done by townies. It's sidetracking us, and we cannot really afford that.

Agreed. But I will chip in with my 2 cents too. I don't there are multiple mafias. It doesn't make sense mechanics-wise. It's only 16 player game and if there were 3 mafias, each one can have only 2 members max (assuming they would be of same size). Also to balance kills each one would have only 1 kill per 3 nights and it is serious setback as it severely cripples mafia. Mafia without kill (or with so crippled kill) is like mason group with added requirement to eliminate 14(!) players. I don't think it's likely.
