NotFrenchYet: So bazilisek's reasoning is flawed because Xyem doesn't like things being unfair.

... Wait, what? Clear that up for us?
avatar
bazilisek: It's fairly simple. The post of xyem's that started all this silliness contained "Isn't controlling the length of day, despite plenty of positive activity, really unfair on town?"

Xyem simply says that this sentence is not softclaiming town, which is what my accusation was, but only insisting on the game being fair, regardless of his own role in it. Which would mean the accusation was based on a wrong interpretation, and therefore faulty.

(Did that make sense?)

I keep wondering, though, if there is any meaningful difference between a reaction to a vote and a reaction to an accusation, and I can't think of any.
Ah, I had the wrong the accusation in mind (I thought you were talking about muttley13). Lots of accusations flying around already..! Thanks.

In most cases, there probaably isn't much but in this case, the difference is really significant.

If I had been responding to your vote, it would have been "part of the game".

I was responding to your accusation that my comments about the deadline was something sinister, rather than the simple concern for the fairness of the game it was. This is why I regarded your reasoning as flawed, without having to know what it was. The comments were directed at JoeSapphire, who isn't a player, thus I effectively wasn't playing at the time I made them.

Any reasoning you had is made void by the fact that I chose to make it a public comment, rather than PMing him. Looking back, that may have been a better idea though! :)

I brought up my giveaway to try and clarify my intentions as that is run how it is specifically to be as fair as possible. It is not biased towards people who come online certain days or can only get only during the week/weekend for example.

Hopefully, that explains it all >.<

xyem: Hopefully, that explains it all >.<
Very well, then. Let's mark 100% out-of-game posts as such next time, and we'll prevent confusion.

It doesn't matter to me, though. I would have voted for you anyway :)

Thanks? :P
Shall we all hug now? Lets getting to lynching. Twilightbard that is...
Okay, so hopefully that long drawn out deal with baz and xyem is over, as it wasn't really getting us anywhere. So, anyone feel like acting suspicious and making this easy?

Well, if you ask Muttly then I probably should be lynched asap...but something about his insistance stinks.

I can't figure out if it's an RVS or more serious vote, if it's an RVS it's being pushed farther then it needed to be, and if serious...there's nothing to really go on, it's not even WIFOM (although I might be having issues seeing it objectively). I dunno, I don't see a way to defend without sounding like I have something to hide, and just sighing and rolling my eyes is treated as a sign of guilt.
Wow have returned to lots of stuff to go though. Though not sure if I should be happy I didn't get any votes for lack of activity or annoyed that people didn't notice I was absent.

@Muttly13 can you point out an example where TwilightBard is laying the groundwork?

@Bazilisek how did Xyem wave his townnisses in our faces and do you think he's town or mafia?

Find it interesting that nobody commented on SirPrimalform voting for himself. Though maybe that's just the sort of thing everyone expects him to do. Also enjoyed the duel between Bazilisek and Xyem. Unfortunately neither of these things help with identifying the mafia.

Sorry to disappoint you by not reacting to your vote NotFrenchYet I'll fix that now. Oh my god I just realised NitFrenchYot voted for me I'm doomed :P

Have probably missed a few things so will have another read though. My activity might be a bit patchy over the next few days.

Not serving any purpose so Unvote SirPrimalform
I need to not play this game at 320am for starters

Right I really cant see the benefits of the baz xyem arguement for most of the day, If the game didnt start more or less instantly I would say it was a brilliant ruse to distance themselves as mafia but due to the timescale am going to say symantics didnt do either one of themselves any favors and it should be merely swept under the carpet for now.

@Xyem Post 56 does give me a slight hint that xyem maybe town havent really got any clear ideas about anyone yet to be completely honest

But I would like some clarification on post 31
$ xclip -o | shuf | head -n1

and 66
xclip -o | perl -pe 's/(?<=b)a/aa/gi' | xclip -i

what you mean by that restriction seems rather odd you like a witch, Fairy, crazy wizard or some other magic based person/creature, apparently you have to type or c&p that when you vote seems very unusual indeed or is it just in my tired state Its some odd forum code which seems to coincide with your vote? can you state what happens if you fail to meet said objective im surprised nobody has questioned it as it wasnt there in game 7

Post 110 seems to imply that muttly13 is a lyncher and is adament to get twilightbard lynched due to him being the target, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt before throwing my vote and give you a chance to say why you think he is mafia, I dont want to see another popnjay moment lol....

Speaking of the latter Rod is rather quiet in this game.... I would throw the random theory that all of joes friends of the mafia but that would just be way to obvious
I'm still here, but not really a huge amount worth commenting on yet.

I DID want to see another popinjay moment moment.
That was probably the most fun I've had in Mafia.
;-}

ViolatorX: $ xclip -o | shuf | head -n1
That was just me showing how I randomly came up with the vote for.. NotFrenchYet. You can see similar code here.

avatar
ViolatorX: xclip -o | perl -pe 's/(?<=b)a/aa/gi' | xclip -i
This series of commands takes the text on my clipboard, finds the character 'a' and if it is proceeded by a 'b', doubles up the 'a' and then puts the changed text back on the clipboard.

Basically, it's me doing what I do: being lazy.

bazilisek: What attacks, pray tell? All I did was throw out one half-joking accusation, and from that moment on only defended myself. It was xyem who reacted to the vote far more strongly than I would expect; don't ask me why, because I don't know.

That being said, I do like strong reactions in this game. They give you material to work with.
To me your vote didn't look like RVS at all and I thought it was serious one. So I wasn't able to understand what's your problem with xyem.
Calling him on waving his towniness could be seen the same way. To make you look towny as well.
But if it was really meant as RVS then I don't have problem with it.
I didn't really comment much on Baz and Xyem, mainly because I was a bit confused and wasn't quite sure what to make of the whole setup.

As a whole, I don't really have any solid reads. I still don't know what to make of Muttly, but Violator pointed out something I really should have thought of also. Oh well, can't catch everything.
