It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hmmm I see, maybe I'll look at it again then, thanks ThermioN
you're welcome.
My connection is too twitchy for the browser - specificalloy I get periodic random redirects that derails the whole browser and leaves everything else clicking away like nothing happenned. Alas, I have to run the downloader in wine - it looks like it runs fine, but I don't know how I can put games into it, since it isn't integrated with the browser like that.

create a bash script
#!/bin/bash
wine /path/to/GOGDownloader.exe $1

save as "gogdownloader"
chmod +x gogdownloader

gconftool-2 --set --type=string /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/command '/path/to/gogdownloader "%s"'
gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/enabled true
gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/needs_terminal false

start Firefox/Iceweasel and go to
edit -> preferences -> applications -> gogdownloader -> use other and select the bash script

or you could use one of the unofficial downloaders

- Uses wget for downloading
- Resume support
- Downloads cover art
- Queue (batch download) support

XGOG Downloader (Perl, Multiplatform, CLI)
- Uses Perl/LWP for downloading

- Queue (batch download) support

gogdl (Lua, Linux, CLI)
- Uses wget for downloading

- XML data support
-- verifies downloaded files against md5 sum from GOG XML
- Should be possible to run on Windows with some code changes

gogdownloader (C++, Linux, CLI)

- Resume support
- Queue (batch download) support
- XML data support

-- can create GOG XML files with custom chunk size for downloaded files
- Should be possible to compile on Windows using Cygwin with some code changes

Linux downloader (Bash, Linux, CLI)
- Uses wget or aria2 for downloading
- Resume support
- Downloads cover art
- Multithreaded downloading when using aria2
- Modified script can be run on Windows with MinGW/MSYS
Ahoy mates,

I was wondering, GoG.com downloader is Adobe Air built, so shouldn't it run natively on Mac, since Adobe Air is cross-platform?

Any way to make it happen?
The latest version of GOG Downloader is no longer an Adobe Air built. It is a regular Windows program. I am not sure whether it works with Macs or not, but I can assure you it works in Linux with Wine (since that is how I download GOG games).

Well the thing is, when I try to run it through WINE (actually through CrossOver Games, the Mac front-end of WINE) it throws an error (The program GOGDownloader. exe has encountered blah blah etc.)

Did you make any special tweaking in order to make it run in WINE?

It was not me. It was Sude (the GOGer posting above yours) that did. Let me do a search first, and I'll post it for your when I find it.

EDIT:
Wait a minute... it's exactly there on his post:

create a bash script
#!/bin/bash
wine /path/to/GOGDownloader.exe $1

save as "gogdownloader"
chmod +x gogdownloader

gconftool-2 --set --type=string /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/command '/path/to/gogdownloader "%s"'
gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/enabled true
gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/gogdownloader/needs_terminal false

start Firefox/Iceweasel and go to
edit -> preferences -> applications -> gogdownloader -> use other and select the bash script

EDIT 2:
Of course I do not know whether it will work on Macs since I don't have one.

I have a serious problem and i hope someone else has been able to fix it. When i download the downloader, i go to enter my email and password, and then no matter how correctly i enter it, the box just goes away for a few seconds then comes back and wont let me even get past the main login screen, its not only that, but its happened on multiple computers that i try to use. and when i close the program, i cant open it again but it still has a process running if i look in task manager.

I hope someone will be able to help me.

EDIT: WOW, nevermind, i just found another thread somewhere, and apparently the problem was that i had numbers in my password O.O.

WTF? You cant have numbers in your password if you want to use the downloader?

Huh? I have numbers in my password, and it is working fine. What other thread it is you mention? Link please.
I have numbers in my pass too. o.o

And the only issue I have with the downloader is that I sometimes have to redownload games. But the Setups are all in a folder, so I don't have to actually run the Downloader to get them.
Hi!

If anyone else got the "no application registered for this extension" error when using Opera, go to advnaced preferences, programs, find GOGDownloader, and edit it. You'll see a '"%1" added to the end, god knows why, but since you can't edit that, just select the option below it and browse to your GOGDownloader.exe, that's it, now it works.

As for other browsers, I haven't used anything else for the last 4 years, so I wouldn't know, maybe it is of some use. Have fun!

I cant remember what the thread was, but im pretty sure it was on the gog forums, i found it through a google seach though. Basically some guy said that he fixed his problem by changing his password and made it not have any numbers in it. I had already tried to fix mine by changing my password but i never did one without numbers, so i gave it a try and it worked.

If you are having this problem then just try this method, it worked for me.
I purchased phantasmagoria and downloaded the gogdownloader but I can' t get the game to download to my pc.
GOG downloader seems to be working fine for me, but I have a suggestion for future versions - some sort of download speed limit selector would be very handy!
