It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

It's funny I have the worst Internet connection speed ever and have had no problems downloading via browser.

Your download manager still doesn't remove the trouble of changing the download address manually every time you have to resume. I can imagine what fun it would be on a bad connection to babysit a download for hours, maybe days.

I notice for the majority it's only "new users" that are bitching.... Suck it up... shit happens... Websites go down for maintenance and I'm sure they're not purposely going outta there way to piss people off...... it'll be fixed when it's fixed and until then there is an alternative...

fisk0: Just add another option in the game "menu", below "Download game in Downloader" have the option "Download game + bonus content in Downloader".
+1

Also, it would be cool if we could access our games (and bonus content) directly through the downloader without having to go to the site first.
My biggest issue with this is the complete lack of responce from GOG. If they at least said something it would be better. I was a bit burned by that lousy hoax and now this. I have certain questions giving them my money at the moment and I wont. I have liked what they stand for and do, but they really need to fire their PR guys and connect with their user base a bit more.
low rated
Looks like downloader is back up, but already went torrent shopping for Icewind Dale, Planescape and Baldures Gate. GOG -$30, plus skipped on last promotion ane I wanted them all.

JoeMD: However, as I can't find (and now may have lost, due to the installation) the partly downloaded file I'd need you to up-load the whole thing to a torrent. If you can do that though I can use FDM to download it as it manages torrents quite well.

xyem: Hm, I was using the fact that you already had just short of 50% of the installer as proof that you had already purchased the game from GoG. If you have to get the file again from scratch, you may as well download it from GoG again as it would be significantly faster as the upload from me seeding would only be ~25kb/s and the machine I would be seeding from isn't online all the time.

Obviously this is nothing personal, but without any way of confirming you have purchased the game, I don't feel comfortable sending you the whole thing. Of course, if you find yourself in the same situation again during the re-download, I'd be happy to help get it completed.

I've logged a support call to see if my offer of making a distributed downloader can go any further than the offer phase :) Hopefully there will be a quick response!
That's fine, I understand that. I would like, however, to assure you I DID buy the game. I'm not big on torrents myself but I'm less fond of not getting what i pay for. If I need your offer in the future I'll let you know. ^_^

Hm. It does seem that the downloader is back up, and yet NO word from GoG here? Bit poor IMO.

Up Date: Has anyone tried the downloader now that the "add to downloader" link is back? For me I click the "add to Downloader" like but when I open the downloader it says the queue is empty. Clicking the refesh button does nothing as the downloadder just sits there with the refresh icon spinning (been going to 15 min now)

Up date 2: Ok, so the downloader finished refreshing but said I had nothing in the queue. So I tired again. Nothing. I closed the downloader, reopened it and nothing. Refresh. Still nothing. Guess the thing is still buggered.

Downloader is working perfectly fine for me at the moment. Unfortunately I managed to grab all my games through Firefox and Downthemall last week already but it's good to see it's up and working again.

No assurance required as I have no reason to not believe you. I'm also glad that you didn't take it as a personal slight.

It was quite simply the case where I didn't(don't) feel comfortable being solely responsible for a (possibly) illegitimate acquisition, whereas by already having a large section of the installer, you'd already shown you can acquire it (through illegitimate means or otherwise) and my participation becomes far more arbitrary i.e. if it wasn't me, it would be much easier to source it from elsewhere.

Logic that will probably get me in trouble, but there you go!

No word back yet on my offer to write a distributed downloader of my own. The more I think about it though, the more interesting the project becomes so I am *really* hoping they let me make it :)
Hahahahaaa...

Just tried downloading Advent Rising for funzies and instead of the 4 GB setup file I got the 2,2 MB setup file used to install it from the 2 GB parts only available by downloading through the browser.

Same thing happened for all my other games divided in such a way:
Commandos 2+3
Gabriel Knight 2
Spellforce
Syberia
Tex Murphy - Overseer
Tex Murphy - The Pandora Directive

EDIT:
I guess I should inform them directly, since obviously they aren't reading this thread.

It's not my fault that you are easily satisfied with a shit product and even worse customer service.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying so I'm downloading Planescape Torment through the downloader now. It's working as expected for me.

That's a dick move. Torrents are understandable, but the least you could've done was paid for the games. It really doesn't help the cause to do things like that and post that you've done them on their site.
