I know it's purely speculative, but portfolio growth could mean adding completely new categories of products to the catalog. Something similar to what they did with cdp.pl, where clients can get ebooks, movies etc. It would require reworking the website, hence technological changes. After all, they wouldn't make such a big deal about adding more games, would they?

I was thinking the most probable being: some Linux versions, and/or Android games. At least those would make some sense and would be pretty easy to include (unlike e.g. Amiga games, considering Kickstart ROMs). After all, Humble Bundle is doing them already as well.

Technological change = improved (downloader) client with new features.

I think the last time big changes were expected, it meant Mac support. Ok, fair enough, not super exciting, but made sense. Same as the things above.

yes to ebooks as various people have mentioned there is a big gap in market .
no way over mobile games.cheap nasty not worth it.

Wasn't there some talk around Dec 2013, that GOG was looking to add games still in Alpha/Beta? Like Early Access on Steam? Or am I hallucinating again?

Also, is GOG a publicly traded company (as in stocks bought and sold on the market)? To the Google!

It was a question on one of GOG's surveys if users were interested in such games, and respondents mostly answered in the affirmative. Implementing that while remaining DRM-free and curating the catalog is probably still a challenge.

I'd expect support for Linux games to show up here before Alpha releases.

Why? Linux games = more support (or so GOG has always claimed). Alpha games = less support (obvs).

I mean, I want Linux versions, but I'm not holding my breath.
