spindown: Sorry about the silly thread, but I've been wondering why so many people use the capitalization "GoG" instead of "GOG." Good old Games? Why? I've seen it so many times on these forums as well as on other websites like Joystiq, and I can't figure out the reason.
In other countries, spelling works a bit different then in the english speaking world (as you should know). For example in german, you not only start a sentence with an upper-case letter, but also all nouns, which is the case for "Games" (again, as you should know). So "Gute alte Spiele" aka "Good old Games" is absolutely correct (aysk) and not all make the switch if they post in english everytime - you may call it adopting habits.

On a sidenote: you guys don't have more important things to worry about? :)
It's Gee Oh Gee.

Hesusio: People are used to O in acronyms standing for "of", and so have a tenancy not to capitalise it even when it doesn't stand for a conjunction, like say, "old".

What can I say? People are stupid.
Beaten to the punchline.

Concerning stupidity, I wouldn't confuse it with a lack of knowledge in some of the specifics of English grammar.

Keep in mind that English is often not the first language of posters.

Unless you speak several languages yourself without holding a degree in linguistics (which means that being fluent in several languages is not your job), you should reserve judgment.

Miaghstir: I don't care how you pronounce it (or write it) as long as you use it.

(quoted and slightly changed, from Linus Torvalds, I believe)
That's largely because Lin ux or Line ux, makes no difference because neither pronunciation approximates any portion of his name.

Personally I'm in favor of gOG or when personfiied Mr. Gog.

Lee noox does though.

I mostly just thought the statement was appropriate here.

Those guys are DRM free too.
GoG looks way slimmer and nicer, it almost makes me drool!
Also we buy Good Games that just happen to be old.

"Good (old) Games"

Actually this is in regards to many saying it "Linix" to rhyme with Unix, breaking all rules of English in the process.
Heh... I was one of those people typing GOG as GoG in the past... No particular reason, though. These days I always type it as GOG :-)
