HenriqueCacau: Arkalash: Legacy also has a dwarf, with a big f*** cannon
It's not really about the dwarf, though. AL isn't focused around a MC or story, it's more about going from one fight to the next. I am enjoying it more than Legend of Grimrock, though, I don't know why; LoG is also focused around combat, but I couldn't get into it.

Made a post about Wizards&Warriors and Demise Ascention here:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_like_might_and_magic_15/post35

Both games let you play as a dwarf (among others).
I'd like to expand the list to include browser rts/empire/RPG games. Stuff like Travian/Heroes of Gaia/Forge of Empires etc, that have Dwarves as a playable faction (not that horrible Hobbit one though)
I'd actually enjoy a good browser empire game w/ Dwarves

Dwarfurious: Already got Blood Bowl, dwarves 4tw.
There is a GOG Blood Bowl League, you know.
You could join the open league (arrange matches yourself and play whenever you and your opponent have time) for now, if you want, and maybe join the GoG Weekly League (one match per week) later?

Dungeonbowl missing from the list.
isnt dungeonbowl the PRE bloodbowl thing? Maybe i should just say its part of the series of Blood Bowl
Got my hands on Sacred, Dwarf is pretty amazing getting a shoulder mounted cannon and all. Real shame they took him out for #2, terrible terrible decision.
Hitler hears that Mountain Dwarfs were removed from Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup - See more at:

The Myth series of games had some of the most memorable Dwarves I can think of. Not on GoG though.

Dwarfurious: I'm looking through GOG.com for all games with Dwarves as a main/playable character, whether you create them yourself or are required to play as one. I shall seek out and someday play every Dwarf of every game, i have already done so for many games but feel free to list any you know of on GOG.com, its difficulty to just find them since most games do not properly list "Has Dwarves" as a feature, but they should.

On the list. (non-mmo) WIP.
Age of Wonders series
Adventure Manager (alpha)
Arcanum
ArchBlade (on steam, try it!)
Arkania
Baldurs Gate series
Blade of Darkness
Blood Bowl
Dungeons and Dragons: Dragonshard
Dwarf Fortress
Helherron
Lands of Lore
Master of Magic
Shadowrun
Temple of Elemental Evil
Warlords/battlecry series
Hey Steammate!

Best.List.Ever.

I look forward to seeing your GoGmix for this.

Edit:The Dark Eye Games all have Dwarves, I see you have Arkania but don't forget Blackguards.

What's the game like in terms of plot/writing/storytelling; I've found I can't play RPGs which don't indulge a little like that, but this one seems interesting because of the character creation options, so I'd like to know.

Well the 'character creation' options is just choosing one of the characters, you cant customize them aside from choosing skills/stats as you level up which is fairly broad. Havnt got far enough to say anything about story or writing, i imagine its slightly different for each "character" though, at least at the start. Maybe someone who has finished it will know. #3 is coming out but i dont like the looks of it
the lord of the rings return of the king has pretty good dwarf ;-)

it was rare that you could get off some of the cooler combos in that game, but when you did, it looked really badass.

Nice to know, I got the Steam version recently myself, so I am going to give it a try..when I get it working ^^ I hate old games, they get indigestion or something whenever they're on my PC, I think I am going to stick to buying everything on the upside of 2011 from now on, lol.
Desktop Dungeons has dwarfs, among other races. You have to use dwarf heroes in some dungeons, mostly you are free to choose from the races. The innate abilities of the races usually determine which to choose for a certain class or task. Dwarfs get a bonus on hitpoints.

Also, most roguelike games feature dwarfs as a playable race.

I also recommend Heroes of Might and Magic V, Hammers of Fate. The Dwarfs are fun to play, they get rune magic. The underground environments convey a sense of Moria-like stone halls and grandness.
