cart_attack: Interestingly Arcanum is on of the only games I could leave for a period of time, come back to (read the Journal), leave again, and come back to again and not get lost about where I was in the game due to the exceptional record keeping of the journal.
Yes and no. Sadly, it doesn't often note in what town you got a quest, so if you collect a lot of quests before taking a break from the game it
can be confusing, seeing how many different towns there are, spread all over the map, and seeing how big they are. Without a walkthrough it would be a real pain to search for questgivers. So I wouldn't suggest leaving the game for long; I made that mistake and have trouble getting back into it now.
(I will admit though that in part it's also due to me being a completionist and the amount of content and quests in Arcanum being quite overwhelming, with some quests that require you to travel to and fro and revisit places you've already explored just to get a single information etc. The game is great, but depending on what type of player you are, it can also be very frustrating at times.)
