Are you aiming for a 9 player game or forgot to add the 3 mafia? or did i read this wrong

I was thinking of using mafiasum newbie setup. This contains 9 players. 2 mafias and 7 towns. Do you think 12 would be better one?

You should probably just pick depending on the amount of interest.

The newbie games are better smaller because they're a better learning tool when they're not too overwhelmed and stuff. Kind of like smaller classes. But yeah it could depend on interest, though splitting up into two games would still be better. As long as the layout is an open one though (roles in the game are revealed beforehand, though obviously not who has what role). The Mafiascum ones are usually pre-balanced by people who have crunched the numbers (there's probably a forum thread or two about that format and why it's balanced or not) by the time they adopt it as their official newbie setup.

Well, for Open role games, we can add more experienced players too if we want to get the games played, since due to the Open Roles it'll be hard to throw out wacky and insane ideas about the setup that WILL confuse people that haven't played.

I thought it won't be open but kind of semi-open as 2of4 game offers only six possible setups.

Just scanned some of the old games, and wondering if we shouldn't try to grab the attention of some of the people who played but might not have seen the signups for the other games. Maybe quote them in the old game and give them a link to this thread? I'm not sure.

Heh, just few minutes ago I PM'd Dominic from game one with offer of playing and I was thinking about inquiring some other players too. :-)
