RangerSolo: 1 side track question here. Is DDO still playable? I can't no matter what DDO file I DL play the game. I keep getting an error message that Turbine can't connect or something like that and the game shuts down.
To the topic at hand.
I really wish more people near me would play pnp D&D. I have just about giving up on these companies making a good cRPG game again. When I have time I try to go online on NWN1 & 2 for multy-play but usually find no one on? Or I just can't connect for some odd reason. Don't have that much online time anyway so I guess it's for the best. Living here in Japan with this time and date difference is hard to find others to play.
#1 yes DnDo is still online, it's gone F2P(-ish) so you probably should go to the main site and read up about it / download the game from there. also, the EU service and the NU service are totally separate so you may have to look up the EU site if you not in the US/canada.
#2 try doing a search for NWN (1 or 2) "persistent worlds" ... people have used the NWN tool sets to put up some home brew MMOs that you may find interesting.
#3 you can also try to find a pnp D&D group that runs their games off of message boards / chat rooms. then you don't have to be local with the people your playing with, try looking around / asking on a site dedicated to D&D 'cause I don't know of any active ones first hand.
