michaelleung: I don't really understand why everyone hates every Simpsons season after 9 or 10, and they're all saying everything made before then was actually funny. Sure, it seems like the show is just pandering these days and the humor is really hit-or-miss, but I do enjoy watching the show still.
I understand your point. To be honest, I think the actual Simpsons are still one of the funniest shows on TV.
But it's just that, before season 10, The Simpsons was not just a "joke-to-another-joke" show, there were real stories, the characters had souls at that time. The problem is, in my opinion, that the Simpsons characters are so famous and so part of the popular culture that the actual writers don't spend time on them anymore, "everybody knows them already, let's just put them in this situation, and in that one"...
Besides, it seems that all the good stories have already been written for the Simpsons, now it's just too delirious and incredible stories. Sometimes, I have the feeling of being watching a Family Guy episode, without the 'adult' jokes.
