Anything could happen in 10 years, who knows. I would buy FC3 and 4 if they were on GOG.

wolfsrain: Never get Origin or UPlay on Steam. You will have to deal with two DRM clients at the same time. Get UPlay games from the Ubi store and Origin games from the Origin store
I have two questions, in my case I want to buy the Child of Light and Valiant Hearts The Great War,

1.- can I buy the game on steam and I will get an activation key for these games to activate on uplay?
2.- can I only buy it on steam but instead of downloading from steam can I download it directly from Uplay?

MaximumBunny: The only way you'll get them drm-free for legit is by buying a copy and then applying the crack to it.
This is why I now wish I knew how to pirate. I agree with amok above, if you play a game you should pay for it, so I would never "pirate" a game I hadn't paid for already. But if you pay for a game, you should damn well be able to play it, at your leisure and without risk of losing it due to third party issues (such as your ISP going down).

I keep intending to research and learn how to pirate SAFELY to do this, but I don't know where to start and I do fear viruses and/or other nefarious things from pirating stuff. I mean who knows what else might be in the "cracks" you download.

But if I could learn how to do it, and how to do it safely, I would do this for every Steam, UDon'tPlay (h/t RudyLis), etc. game I have (which thankfully isn't all that many compared to my GOG library with over 530 entries on my shelves)..
From what I've read, its FC3 and FC3.1

1. You can buy on Steam, activate on UPlay, but you will still have to deal with both Steam and Upaly client.
2. No. You get to download from Steam
Buy them on Uplay only ! I own FC3: Blood Dragon and even if it's stupid to install a new client just for one game, it's the only (legal) way to play it.
On Steam, you will have to also run Uplay, which is useless.

There is no trick to it you know. Every pirated program/game comes with instructions and all of the required files. :P

So the problem is not how, but "where". And once you figure that out then you're pretty much set. If someone could collect the files for you/the community then that would likely solve the safety part and everyone would have access to them if they decided to purchase those games.

That would be an interesting new movement. The "buy games and then crack them to show publishers that we don't need or want DRM schemes to support them" . Very interesting. ^^
Actually when was the last time Ubisoft released a game here on GOG?

Been a while.

Last game from Ubisoft here, was Settlers IV that was released on 18 July 2013.
I would love to see Blood Dragon here.

Not messing with uplay. nty.

In Skyrim (or ArmA/OFP) that would known as mod and available either in Steam workshop or somewhere on ofp.gamepark.cz

amok: Since when was piracy approved off in this forums?

If you are going to play a game, you should dam well be man enough pay for them also. If you do not approve of how a game is delivered, the solution is to not play the game at all. The only thing you do by pirate games, is legitimising the use of DRM.

Down-voted.
Your right!!!believe it or not I am against cracks for games,,I know what it takes to make em and I want to designers to do well enough to make some more cool games,so as easy as it is for me to get a pir version I won't do it,,I bought all the games I got and feel good about it,,and I also don't recommend this to any1..that's why I come to gog and get whats good enough for me and be happy with that, but remember DRM is a virus to me and don't like anything to do with it......don't crack them people..

Uhm... Mods are free. Not sure if somebody modded those, though.

Them and epictrollingfarts too, they do that everywhere. Say, do they language lock games for you?

I don't think there's a language they have for India. We always get games in English both from Steam, GOG and the EA and Ubi chain down services. Which is good since I like it dat way! And dubbing for 25+ languages is probably not sound in a business sense either.
