Adzeth: Tomorrow I'll finally get to eat the first chocolate. My mom bought me an Advent calendar. It's been sitting next to my bed for ages now, with all of its still forbidden delights calling out to me. Not much longer, now..
Anyone else lusting after their Advent chocolate?
/edit: I totally originally meant to write "lusting for", but that'll do.
That is a great tradition, and I only received a variant of an advent calendar once, when my son made me one in school.
I say variant, as it was about a 2.5m craft that was made by him at school, and consisted of a large Santa Claus with a long "tail" consisting of 24 messages, folded over, tied on individually with alternating red and green yarn, and adorned with a bell on each message.
I was supposed to untie one message a day, and the contents were little tasks or favors that he would perform around the house to help.
The thing looked so cool, I never did untie one, and still put it up every year.
I can still feel a warm glow thinking about it, and consider myself very fortunate that one of the messages didn't read "..and tomorrow, I will slit your throat," otherwise I wouldn't be here to have this fine memory to look back on.
