I am not kidding to those who are unaware:

I just hope it doesn't kill the Elderscrolls as a single player franchise. MMOs can do that sometimes. as for the game itself, They didn't say anything to make me pay interest.
Cool, I'll have Skyrim finished by then.

I hope.

Damn that gigantic game.

Well IMO better for elder scrolls to have an all multiplayer game than a singleplayer game with a tacked-on multiplayer componant also I would like to see Elsweyr: the homeland of the Khajit, and also to revisit Vvanrdenfell island and Solthesim island both from Morrowind
Actually I've heard about them planning on something like thiws for a while now. I don't care for MMO games so I'll stay to single player and local multi.

Arena I believe actually goes to Elsweyr, you if you want to see it through that.

Hell yeah man all of tamriel in one open game its going to be like elder scrolls 1 arena all over again :)
For better or worse, it's by a different studio. It's also based on the same engine that SWTOR is based on (Heroengine, I think).

I'm not expecting much.

yeah but from what I have seen all of the nations you can go in arena are just copypasted so there is not much of a difference in aesthtics in arena I doubt arena's Cyrodiil looks like Oblivion's Cyrodiil

What is wrong with SWTOR's engine (note: I have not played SWTOR)

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I like playing TES games because I get to fight trolls. On the other hand I hate MMOs because I end up fighting trolls.

I see what you did there :)
Heroengine is the most powerful MMO engine, the thing is freaking incredible if you take a look at the website for it. SWTOR didn't really bring it to its fullest potential, hopefully this one will.

That being said, now that this game covers all of Tamriel, what are they going to do for future elder scrolls games?
Wasn't TES often described as a "single player MMORPG?". In most games, the lore is better than the story, so I can actually see this work.

It will .

Allegedly it eats up memory like a monster and devs have to use hacks to get around its limitations. I don't play MMOs, though, so I can't speak for the veracity of those statements.

I didn't see that in the linked article, is it referenced somewhere else? I understand that MMO engines have different needs than offline games, and that Gamebryo might not be as light footed as an MMO would require, but I was mentally picturing a Gamebryo game with other people running around until you said that.
