hedwards: Sigh, I wish Mr. Gog would stop eating my posts.
Graphics aren't blocky, I can't imagine how the full release graphics could possibly be worse than the demo graphics. Which I would have killed to have had in 1996. And probably well into the 21st century.
The demo was itself very linear, but it didn't have blocky graphics.
Kabuto: I think you missed the point on how ridiculous the comment was. He said blocky like Duke3D. Duke3D is completely flat and has no blocks unless you're talking about the polygonal bosses in the N64 port.
Indeed, I was thinking Duke 3D and all FPS of that era had a lot of blocky textures to them.
But, I think your interpretation seems better.

Gersen: The issue is that nowadays "blocky" is used for anything, be it low polygon count or pixelated/lowres graphics.
Indeed, hence the confusion. I think the notion that it's as blocky as something from the 90s is somewhat hard to believe. Especially since the demo, which was mostly finished a year or so ago, isn't particularly blocky. It would be nice if the graphics were better, but I didn't find them to be distracting when I was playing the demo.
