Kabuto: Your devotion really runs deep. You say big deal, I say they are duke specific design flaws. Will that ruin the game for me? I don't know. I have a few more weeks to wait to try the demo. We'll see. I hold out hope it'll be enjoyable but I'm concerned at this point.
I'm not the only one...alot of Duke fans feel the same way. The two weapon limit does suck, but many have stated that the regen health isn't as easy as everyone thinks and I tend to agree.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: What are you, a Gearbox employee?
Hello no.....fuck em anyways. I liked 3DR better.

Talby: Regenerating health is the deal breaker for me. It has no place in a Duke game.

Arianus: Re-Gen Health No-More Mod?
It's not the regenerating health itself that bothers me that much, but how gameplay is changed as a result. At its worst, you get a game like Modern Warfare, where the gameplay consists of ducking behind cover, popping up for a few seconds to shoot, ducking again when you are wounded, rince, repeat.

Duke isn't some nancy special forces operative who needs to run away and have a little cry when he gets shot a few times. He ain't got time to bleed.

Don't hide behind cover then......

That gameplay is not the result of a single factor, regenerating health. But a consequence of multiple facts, such as how much damage a character can recieve, how fast they recieve it, and the speed of regeneration.

There's no point in popping in and out of cover if you can take on an entire room without needing the regen.

Which of these is your experience with the demo?
The worst part of the demo was the painfully linear and unimaginative level design. That's find in some games, but this is Duke Nukem. I expect awesome level design. This had none of that.

It's a polished pax east demo...not a full blown polished demo......it's not gonna be pretty you know, given the fact that they didn't bother making a new demo just for the FAC members.

Exactly. If every a game personified the way regenerating health changed the FPS genre it is this one.
low rated

I hear gearbox is hiring PR people who don't know what they're talking about but can read a sell sheet without objection.

If you hype the crap out the game and if it's as good as they say, then you don't dump a crap demo on people. Rager you act as if only your opinion matters and that everyone is wrong. You are also assuming a lot. Given the game isn't out, you really don't know if the final product will be vastly better or not.

Demos are for showing the best of your game. If your demo is shit, then I'm not buying your game. They're a demonstration of the full game, and if they couldn't get the demo right, I have no confidence in their ability to make a good game.

Um, harsh much?

I love the game, I have since it was first announced. And I played the demo and still love it. Got a problem with it? Then attack with opposing debate and not insults.

I see no debate. Just you telling everyone they're wrong. It's not being harsh when it's true. You've been hyping the living hell out of the game and spamming the Duke Balls of steel thread for the past two weeks.

Sweet, sweet irony.

I like the game, and if I wanna hype it why do you care?

Also why so mad about the "spam"? No one else bothered posting so it's not exactly like I could break it up.

I personally think Duke could do with a little more development time.
tell me again :X that cheap demo was NOT duke nukem forever NO, damn if it is........ then the game was better being a vaporware
