Nicole28: How old is your ancient rig? What are your specs?
I've been hearing conflicting reports from people with low end systems.
StingingVelvet: GTX 480, Intel Q9550, 4GB of RAM. Runs pretty darn good on a mix of medium and high settings. I have the detail and draw distance stuff on high, processing effects on medium.
I have a GTX 650 and my PC can play Crysis 1 well enough. I can play Witcher 2 at max aswell.
Provided of course I lower the resolution I can play Crysis 1 at 1080p on Ultra but the FPS lowers in a 30-40 I think, but if I lower it to 720p at ultra a consistant 60 FPS.
I could not play Battlefield 4 at Max/1080p without the Framerate being increadibly low same with Arma 3 when I increase the Draw Distance.
Zurvan7: So is the game any good? Are the characters and dialogues as memorable as Origins or is this another false marketing campaign like DA2 which was my last Bio/EA title...
God knows what a disappointment and flat out lie DA2 was.
StingingVelvet: It's alright. It depends on what you're looking to get from it. It's not like Origins at all, it's more an action RPG focused on exploration. Quests are a lot less interesting, but the world is a lot more interesting. So it depends on what you want. Keyboard controls take some getting used to but I'm warming to them.
I might still return it, but I'm not really big into gaming right now, so don't take that as a massive attack on the game. It's okay. It might even be great depending on what you want from it.
In the end is it "better" than Dragon Age 2?
I know the open world is like Baldur's Gate Big zones with instances between each other. Does it feel big enough though? At least one Zone is as big a Vvardenfell?
