Nicole28: How old is your ancient rig? What are your specs?

I've been hearing conflicting reports from people with low end systems.
GTX 480, Intel Q9550, 4GB of RAM. Runs pretty darn good on a mix of medium and high settings. I have the detail and draw distance stuff on high, processing effects on medium.
So is the game any good? Are the characters and dialogues as memorable as Origins or is this another false marketing campaign like DA2 which was my last Bio/EA title...

God knows what a disappointment and flat out lie DA2 was.
The game is looking pretty good from the clips that I have seen but why on earth have Bioware have tacked on Denuvo to it.

It's alright. It depends on what you're looking to get from it. It's not like Origins at all, it's more an action RPG focused on exploration. Quests are a lot less interesting, but the world is a lot more interesting. So it depends on what you want. Keyboard controls take some getting used to but I'm warming to them.

I might still return it, but I'm not really big into gaming right now, so don't take that as a massive attack on the game. It's okay. It might even be great depending on what you want from it.

I missed that part, I was hesitating as to whenever or not to buy the game after having being burned by DA2... looks like now I have a good reason not to.

I have a GTX 650 and my PC can play Crysis 1 well enough. I can play Witcher 2 at max aswell.

Provided of course I lower the resolution I can play Crysis 1 at 1080p on Ultra but the FPS lowers in a 30-40 I think, but if I lower it to 720p at ultra a consistant 60 FPS.

I could not play Battlefield 4 at Max/1080p without the Framerate being increadibly low same with Arma 3 when I increase the Draw Distance.

In the end is it "better" than Dragon Age 2?

I know the open world is like Baldur's Gate Big zones with instances between each other. Does it feel big enough though? At least one Zone is as big a Vvardenfell?

Oh no, and I was really looking forward to this game too. :( I'm used to dealing with DRM, but that Denuvo crap sounds awful. Well, I guess I'll wait and see, or buy it and crack it before playing. >.>

I said for GTA V (even though its not confirmed so far) and I will say it here. Denuvo is probably used for the multiplayer portion of the game. (Even though it baffels me that EA would utilize it in their own client)

Hm, there might be some hope then. Still, I'll wait and see before buying ... I used to be a pirate before getting into sites like GOG, and situations like these remind me why ... I don't want to do that anymore, but at the same time I don't relish being punished for actually buying games either.

Well I may get into trouble saying this but oh well.

Of course you were a pirate back than and its you and other peoples actions in the past why we have DRM in games now :P

I know there is some hypocracy since I download emulators for old console games on SNES, GBA, but I never pirate a "PC" game like Crysis 1 or Half Life 1 or Starcraft or GTA's PC ports. I don't even know how to use the Pirate Bay and that site sounds like its full of Malware up the ass.

That's a common misconception - in other words, it's not. Piratebay works using torrents, and torrents work like this: The more people download it, the more active it is and the faster the download gets (well, it's a simplification, but let's leave it at that). So, if there's a malware hidden somewhere in torrented content, it falls to obscurity and dies very fast, not to mention the fact that it's easy to find verified torrents. It's pretty much the safest way to download stuff, and not just illegal stuff either (whether I'm looking for a huge mod or something from public domain, TPB tends to not fail me and provides me with very good speeds)

Well, I'm not sure it's as simple as that, but you're absolutely right in saying it's wrong. Still, at least I made the decision not to do it anymore, and to me that counts for something. I want to be part of the change towards DRM-free games now, and I never really used to think about that when I was younger.

Well I would torrent Battlefield 2 for the single player content even though everyone says its lacking unlike 1942.

But one time I checked TPB and it looked......complicated. I don't know how people are torrenting from it in the millions.

You're a nice fella. Saying pirates are the cause of DRM and then going on to state you'd pirate a game if you knew how. :P (Yes, this is meant to be tongue-in-cheek).

But even after all that I think gaming Piracy is not that big compared to piracy of other media. And Music is the worst when it comes to piracy. My goodness music is so free right and people rarely pays for CDs I have no idea why even not as popular music genres like Thrash Metal is still even making new songs

(I know what you said is tounge and cheek)
