Toolsets and player mods encourage players to keep the games installed for longer. The biggest hurdle to DLC sales is people uninstalling the game and putting it away.
Tulivu: True, but that would depend on the quality of the DLC. If they were just trying to sell armor/weapon packs and maps/small quests that I have seen from Bioware in recent titles then mods could do better. If they were to release gameplay changes and expansions, then yes it would be in their interests. Toolsets and player mods encourage players to keep the games installed for longer. There's simply no incentive to not have the toolset. Except them feeling the cost of the effort isn't worth it and probably abandoning DA2 as a lost cause.
