Really? In that case, let me recommend KoTOR to any fans of Bioware style RPGs who may have missed it. You don't need to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it and Lucas had nothing to do with it. It was designed with the Xbox in mind but if DA2 was more like it I doubt there would have been anywhere near as much bitching on the interwebs.

Mass Effect is the real spiritual successor to KOTOR. Dragon Age was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. This was a good thing because it reminded people of the days when there were lots of different flavours of RPG's. Now that DA2 has also become a clone of Mass Effect/KOTOR and with The Old Republic out soon it's paints a depressing future for RPG's.

I like vanilla ice cream but if it was the only flavor available I would get bored with it very quickly.

It will be on sale soon on D2D. I would recommend the PC version over the Xbox one. It may have been designed for the Xbox but it plays better and looks nicer on the PC.

One of the things they should have cribbed from ME2 was interrupts. So many speeches you just wanted to stop short with violence.

Did the interrupts in ME2 worked for Sheploo's speeches, can Sheploo punch himself in the face to stop talking or something ? Cause some of the speeches i wanted to stop short with violence were Hawke's ;)

That would have made too much sense. They took all the bad things about Mass Effect because that's clearly what we enjoyed. Hell planet scanning was more enjoyable than the scavenger hunt for crafting materials. And planet scanning wasn't enjoyable at all.
Hawke wasn't even fit to lace the boots of Shep. Shep put the Quarian admiralty in their place, Hawke stood there and said derp a lot.

After considering your words, my Hawke agrees. She's a sad panda now :(

It's actually embarrasing when you compare the characters.

My Shep saved the council, saved the Rachni, talked Saren into blowing his head off, flipped a Reaper the finger, stopped the Genophage cure, nuked a racist bitch (Hated Ash), got jiggy with a blue alien, saved a colony from an alien spore plant with no casualties, died and got better, recruited a kick ass team, stopped the Quarians from going to war with the Geth, restored all the Geth making them allies, helped unite the Krogan, flipped a Reaper the finger, flipped the council the finger, nuked a collector base, f**ked up a baby Reaper and finally flipped the Illusive man the finger. Epic.

Hawke was largely ignored by everyone even his closest friends and just went along for the ride.

KOTOR is a good game with a great story.
But I am always disappointed by it. Because back then I looked forward to it (heck I couldn't sleep the day before it released) thinking it will be Baldur's Gate 2 with a Star Wars theme or at least as big as NWN. After I finished Taris, I knew it wouldn't happen. That's when I first started becoming aware of things becoming shallow and dumbed-down.
After that I compared almost every RPG to BG2, and felt let down almost everytime.

I don't mind getting RPG's like KOTOR/JE/ME as long as we also get the traditional ones as well which was the whole point about Bioware making both Mass Effect and Dragon Age they had both bases covered. Now they seem to want all their RPG's to be like Mass Effect which is extremely disappointing.

It's embarassing when you compare Hawke to just about anything really.

That's just how my Shep rolls. Funny thing is Paragon or Renegade Shep is still a badass. The Paragon ending is basically you telling TIM to spin on it while you blow up the base.
