Tormentfan: That has suddenly upped their push by use of peer presure. What do you think the unspoken indication of bestseller lists are.. it's not about providing information, it's about making you think you are missing out.
spindown: How is showing customers a bestseller list peer pressure? When you walk into a bookstore and see a display of their bestselling books, do you feel pressure to buy them?
Seriously, I have to explain this again, you can't read what I've written previously?
It's a sales tactic, it's not about the info, it's to introduce the thought that you're missing out and everyone knows something you don't... It's a play on your insecurities, if you can walk past it, then fine, but you can absolutley guarantee other's will be suckered in.
It's just one thing on a long list of everyday push, push, push.
It's not even that it's being provided as 'new' information, it's always been there, but it now defaults to it with no way to set and save a preference, which also makes the list less user friendly.. so in the end, gog's push for more profit results in less convienient functionality.
I thought gog's point of the overhaul was to make the site better... this isn't making it better, just easier to push things.
Tbh I'm not interested if you think I'm wrong, that's you're opinion that's not backed up with anything.. I however KNOW that this tactic just boils down to pro activelty pushing products as opposed to providing a range for the customer to choose, so regardless of how you feel about my comments, like them or not, you're not in a position to tell me I'm wrong.
