The Oliver Twins are pitching a new Dizzy game. This will probably get me back on the Kickstarter bandwagon, sigh ...

Hey stonebro check out Spud's Quest too. It's another project inspired by the Dizzy series, and also approved by The Oliver Twins.

hm, I always thought that Dizzy IP belongs to codemasters, so how they can start with that project?

I think I actually have an email from Andrew Oliver somewhere confirming this, it's a few years old though, and it's possible that the rights have been formally abandoned by the Codies in the meantime.
You know what was my first thought? Such an old egg must stink horribly! And that's my prime concern. I'm afraid Dizzy is one of those games which just shouldn't be remade. I hope they will prove me wrong though... "Time only knows" ;)
I freaking loved Cosmic Spacehead and Fantastic Dizzy on the Megadrive, and i might donate them 10£
They managed to grab back the rights to do another Dizzy game.

Really looking forward to this, love the artwork they've shown.

But yeah, don't forget Spud's Quest, which ends in a few days :)

Puzzle-platformers have been pretty popular in the indie scene since Braid, I'd say now (or at least a couple years back :D) would be a great time to revive the Dizzy franchise... as long as they don't do something incredibly stupid with it. Being the Oliver Twins I'm sure they won't (EDIT: after watching the KS vid, it doesn't look like they're gonna screw up the usual formula, only adding to it).
Only problem I see is that puzzle-platformers might be getting a little saturated now. I'm not really sure how well all the games in the genre are doing, if some of the better looking ones are struggling and not being as successful as the devs realistically hoped... or whatever.

I'ma huge fan of the Dizzy games. Still have them all for my Amstrad!

I sent a message to the Oliver Twins about a couple things and got a reply.

Firstly I asked if they are considering using paypal once they hit the goal (I hate amazon and refuse to use them for anything). They said hopefully, they will see.

I also asked about DRM and they said they hadn't thought about it yet but will ask backers what they want and make a decision, so if you want to see the new Dizzy game DRM free and hopefully available here! let them know.

Damn, that egg is old. It stinks.

Btw I think I've seen some Dizzy game on iStore or something? Trademark is not abandoned, I don't think so.

Lots of that going around. Some people seem to think it's insta-money, but you have to work for it and be someone consumers trust and know.
