lettmon: I don't know, I enjoyed going on killing sprees. The game doesn't really encourage ghosting because there isn't ultimate reward for that - so I will get low chaos, so what? This game gives the player many ways to deal with enemies and they're all satisfactory, either you choke them or blow up with grenades. And this is coming from gamer who considers Thief The Dark Project second best game ever after Deus Ex lol
lowyhong: And what's the ultimate reward for killing everyone? I find ghosting to be far more satisfying, especially when my main score list is filled with 0's and ticks. Humiliating Daud by stealing his wallet in plain sight, just because I can; sparing the lives of pesky but innocent guards, just because I can; et cetera. You can play it the high chaos way if that's the way you want to proceed, but that doesn't mean the game doesn't encourage other alternatives, in its own small ways (score sheet, challenging oneself). For giving the player so many viable choices, including the ability to really ghost a la Thief, I applaud them. Good to see them taking all these possibilities into consideration.
Just the fact that they gave you nonlethal ways of carrying out assassinations is pretty awesome. An assassination game you can complete without killing anyone. O_o
jefequeso: Well the fact that the plot basically punishes you for killing people is a pretty big reason to ghost (or at least find nonlethal ways of dispatching guards).
lettmon: That only changes the ending video which is like 1 min short, not motivating enough for me. I saw the good ending on youtube anyway. I didn't try to kill everyone - I only went psycho when I got spotted by guards. But I wanted to kill Daud for throwing my stuff away but I wasn't fast enough - you know what happened after a few seconds hehe
It also changes other stuff. A lot throughout the game, I gather (how many rats there are, how many weepers there are, how dangerous levels are). And I know that Samuel treats you differently if you go berzerk, and I believe certain characters will survive/die based on your actions as well. So it's not just the ending.
