niniendowarrior: Maybe Squeenix will tweak the graphics and release Deus Ex: The Fall - The Missing Link
Deus Ex: The Fall Director's Cut

Introducing performance issues/stuttering, textures randomly changed and/or resized, lighting adjusted & extreme bloom added to all light sources, a large number of objects now use heavily reduced detail versions until you get to within 1m of them (at which point the full detail versions jarringly pop in) etc...

Don't remind me of the travesty that is the Director's Cut (and they fact they removed the original version from Steam).

What exactly is still broken? I hesitated to upgrade mine because I had already completed the game twice and I wasn't in the mood to replay and the rumours about some issues.

Here is a compiled list with all the problems found by the users on the game. It's... long. (an understatement)

Just in case it wasn't clear, the Director's Cut is handled as a totally separate game entry in the Steam library; it doesn't replace or affect the original version in any way.

Wow, that's impressive. Hopefully by the time I play the game (10 years from now, I guess) these will be fixed.

Maybe I'll play The Fall before then, since I own it on Android.

By the way, is sound important for gameplay? The Android version has sound problems on my Nexus 7 and I'd rather play without sound (which is how I normally play games anyway).

Thanks. That was one long list and there are a few entries there that alone would stop me from buying it.

Good to know, but I doubt I'll upgrade mine until my next replay anyway and before purchase I'll return to that list and see if they fixed most of it.

Why?

You already saw the list but for me the biggest issue is the gold tint being removed, which completely fucks up the graphics.

But not from Steam libraries. So I have two DX:HRs on my Steam account now. :-)
The original version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution (and its DLC) are still available from Green Man Gaming.
