Graphically, eh. The style of the world is great, no argument, but the actual graphical quality is pretty outdated in some areas. Then again, if I remember right, so was the first Deus Ex when it came out, so we can just pretend this one is staying true to the series.
What surprised me is the various amount of ways to get through the first real level (not the prologue section). I knew there would be various methods for getting through, but when I retraced my steps post-mission, I saw just how much I missed. Can't wait to see what is ahead now and what they have done with other environments.
I am only about three hours in, but enjoying it a great deal so far.

So someone sold you a copy of what you thought was Deus Ex: Human Revolution but when you installed it, it turned out to be a copy of Descent?

EDIT: Maybe also they tweaked it for the final version.

Game REALLY feels like a PC game, which is awesome. Mouse pointer control on computers, keypads, newspapers and more. Typing for passwords, PERFECT menus, hotbar... it's everything they advertised on that score.
Downsides so far are meh graphics, especially in outdoor areas, and the atrocious load times. Also I get a little stutter when I zoom aim, but that might be my comp. Oh and the load times are horrible.
All in all it seems like a freaking awesome game so far. It's not the original carbon copied and given better graphics though. It has a lot of modern tweaks and changes, but keeps the core gameplay. If you can handle that you should buy it.
Can't wait to wake up and play more!

What's notable is that they can also be killed with a single 20mm HE round. They are far from invincible when engaged at the proper time, but are unfortunately invincible everywhere else. I've tried every way possible to escape Gunther's grasp at Battery Park, and I even made it to Jock's helicopter... and this is probably my only complaint. What a pinnacle of a game.

It seems fine so far (playing on a 360) but I liked it better when there was no cover system.
But to be fair I've never really liked playing cover-based shooters.

It requires steamworks (Form of DRM) so i'm waiting for a price drop like the Christmas Sale no matter how good or bad it is.

Setting "max pre-rendered frames" to 1 instead of the default 3 fixes any lag I experienced, similar to Mafia 2. Which is nice. It still stutters when loading areas in the background, but that's pretty common for modern games sadly.
Also, having a blast.

Also, NPC's are really sensitive about having things thrown at them.
I threw a cardboard box at a SWAT officer and everyone started shooting at me :(

Based on 4 hours of play I like it so far. The game fixes a lot of what made Deus Ex a flawed masterpiece.
-Combat feels fluid
-Voice acting is good
-Looks good enough
-There are multiple paths like one would expect
-NPCs actually have a random chance to trigger conversations (found this by reloading)
-Choices seem to have consequences
I'm a bit worried about the replayability, everything up to where I am has been on rails. Hopefully it opens up a bit more.
