Just finished it tonite finally. Had lots of fun and was worth the money.

Ran into the dreaded new game bug after finishing however. I got dropped on the island with no quests and the loading screen showed the tutorial. Luckily my friend's saves didn't bug and i was able to join their game from there, dump all my gear and items in the stash, then go do the tutorial again and not have my inventory wiped out.

From what I read that's how the New Game was supposed to be? You just needed to get to Paradise from that point I think.

1. Dont remember any car problem like that tbh, but I could be having a senior moment :)

2. You got a mace had four upgrades dots and a mod, not exactly "modded the beejeesus" material really.....But... you "threw" at a ram????
Why would you throw a weapon at a ram, they charge, you doge, turn around and whack them on the back, they are dead.
As regards losing it, yeah it happened to me, very rarely, but blunts bounce off enemies, they dont stick, so it could have bounced off the ram and was laying somewhere you couldnt see it easily, but either way, yeah you could lose a weapon, but for me anyway, I could maybe think of two occasions it happened me in about 150 hours of gameplay of DI.

Either way, you wouldnt enjoy DI:R, it's basically the same game.....Oh, yeah FWIW, I threw a baseball bat at a mine yesterday and it clipped through a wall into the next room.

Pheace: To sum that post up.
I've heard of this bug and just to clarify what Pheace said.

From IGN

•You start on the beach with Castaway (you don't play through the ship again).
•All your items on your person and in Henry's storage are accessible (Henry can be accessed even while fighting zombies ... note that this is better on Single-Player mode, when the game actually pauses during menus).
•Team quests results are not saved / carried over.
•Your skills / weapon mastery are kept (derp).
•If you decide to start a New Game with the same character, you can chapter select and start at a pre-set level (increases as you go up in chapters) but all your missions (sides, continuous, team) are reset.
•Collectibles are carried over. Items you got for collectibles will not re-appear on your side of a co-op or SP game.

The car basically Shatters to bits seven hits and there's FIRE coming out of the bonnet SERIOUSLY! ten hit's and the engine stalls one hit after that and KA-BOOM! basically

No Pheace I Don't have mental problems I have 5% physical Brain damage All the way through after getting my head smashed through a Pole when I was in my early twenties If you must know!

I threw it at the ram By accident I didn't MEAN to throw it but I was almost dead and there was a large swarm of zombies as well I was up to *chapter five Mixed blessings!*

Finished it right now. What's this I hear about that there's a quest that is only available on new game+? Is it true? I've missed two quests (as the achievement meter says), one team quest that goes failed when *spoiler* one person leaves the team *spoiler*, and the other I have no idea. I went everywhere, did everything and couldn't find any more quests.

in your first post you said :

the only reason I used it is when I threw it it used to kill a ram and or a bloater in ONE HIT!!!

Now you say you threw it by accident.

Then you said :

I got killed by a Battering RAM and Presto My fully Awesome Electric Flaming ACID Tactical galaxy destroying mace simply Vanished without a Trace

and later

I got killed while bashing some weird ass banshee like thing and It killed me along with 1,680,250 infected and Pure zombies and those weird Blister guys that croak out "Help me"

I'm having trouble following your train of thought here tbh. :(

Either way, you are getting terribly upset over losing one pretty mediocre weapon that had very little real upgrading effort put into it.

I understand somebody not liking a game, but the reasons you give are just....

look, ...I dont want to start an argument, lets just leave it at that.
The banshee like thing Was NEXT TO the Battering Ram guy The battering ram Guy ran I dodged went to hit him Accidentally THREW the Mace the zombies ran towards me and then the Banshee like thing (found out it was a Butcher by looking up the wiki) as well as the Infected dudes and as I was dying the Battering ram ran into me which Flung the mace which was Lodged IN His Back FAR AWAY and IT DISAPPEARED FROM WHERE I SAW IT LAND That's what I'm sayin!

Now I wish I took a screen shot so I could have showed you?!?

THIS DUDE!

I'll clarify exactly what it did.

I finished and chose new game with the same toon. The loading screen showed Sea of Fog as the quest so I was already thinking "oh no". Then I was dropped on the beach and it was empty, Harlow wasn't there like she's supposed to be and my quest log said "empty" with the final quest from my last game greyed out as complete on the bottom. I tried going to paradise, all the npcs were there and it was reset (bridge stil intact) but there was no quests available and nothing was happening. After that I joined my friend's game and did the first quest with him, and while playing I kept getting a message like 'Your quest progress will not be saved to this profile' over and over again. So I just went to the stash guy and unloaded everything and started single player again. I was dropped on the beach yet again with no one there, then for the hell of it I chose "load from last checkpoint", which then dumped me back onto the ship in the tutorial. After completing it again it's now fine and all my items were still in the stash.

In all the hours I played Dead Island (Steam says it was 93.4 hours) I never had a vehicle blow up on me. Never had fire coming out the bonnet either. I ran down loads of zombies and the only damage I noticed was the windscreen cracking.

But limited inventory is part of the Borderlands and Dead Island games. It forces you to make choices about what to keep and what to leave behind, and what to sell. But there are ways of storing weapons in these games:

In Borderlands 1, in Moxxi's Underdome Riot DLC you get a storage locker for keeping inventory in. And of course, rescuing Claptraps often gains you inventory upgrades allowing you to carry more.

In Borderlands 2 you have to get into the game somewhat first, but when you get to Sanctuary there is a bank vault locker you can use for the current character only. There is also a small (4 item) locker that shares contents between all your characters so you can use it as storage AND as a way to transfer items between characters. At Sanctuary you can also buy inventory upgrades in exchange for Eridium on the black market.

In Dead Island, once you've got to Moresby you should have Jin acting as a storage locker for you. Riptide gives you someone as a storage locker near the start (after you've completed the tutorial on the ship and made it to your first survivor camp) and he can hold 150 items in storage for you.

Look how much punishment these guys put the car (well, pickup) through.

A little bit of smoke out the bonnet is all that happens. They even ran down a Suicider.

LOL, nice find, I actually did that (not the video), went down where the HELP sign is...If you recall, further down there, there is a car parked on top of a road sign, I was trying to see if I could get one up there too...failed miserably :(

Cool link though ! :)
