StingingVelvet: On lowest settings? Console versions were 640p with massive blur filters and still ran at 20fps half the time. The PC version was nowhere near that bad.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Where did you take that from? I own both the PS3 and PC versions of GTA4 and this is certainly NOT true. Seriously, do some research, but please, don't spread false information on the forum, it makes you look stupid. 20 frames per second half the time? Yeah right, maybe in your fertile imagination.
Also, the PS3 version was playable from launch day, the PC version wasn't. Not only did the PC version have massive performance issues, there were also issues with the activation method itself thanks to that Rockstar social club BS. Many people couldn't even activate the fucking game because of that, and the performance is well known to SUCK even on rather good PCs. Yet you refuse to accept simple facts.
Also you have to take into account that i7 processors were about to be released when GTA4 came out, and even the most powerful Core 2 Quad processors at that time suffered to maintain good framerates.
Keep lying to yourself if you wish, but the fact reamains, GTA4 was the prime example of how NOT to make a PC port.
StingingVelvet: Judging by my rep the last 12 hours a lot of console gamers are pissed at me, and that's fine, I don't care.
Hmm, so everyone who doesn't agree with you is a console gamer? Hmmm, that's interesting.
StingingVelvet: end point cannot be argued that even a poorly performing PC version is better than a console version like GTA4 had.
In your dreams, maybe.
StingingVelvet: Again, not saying playing on console is bad at all. Just saying on pure gameplay fronts PC versions are better 90% of the time.
Most of the time the PC port is better, but some ports suck, which is the case for both Dark SOuls and GTA4.
StingingVelvet: And then you made a long list of games that are obviously much better on PC.
Uh, what? Like GTA4? LOL.
