StingingVelvet: Stick your fingers in your ears and pretend crap PC ports are worse than console versions if you like but it's rarely ever true.
Yeah, so having to go through the hassle of modding the game to make it look like it was supposed to in the first place is still better than the hassle free experience on consoles?
And what about the broken netcode on the PC version? This "feature" is not available on the consoles version. In a game that relies so much in online interactivity, a broken online code certainly makes the experience worse.
You can try fool yourself as much as you want, but Dark SOuls is a crappy port, and it IS worse than the consoles version. It's just a matter of fact. The fucked up netcode breaks the game.
http://www.uk.namcobandaigames.eu/community/topics/please-fix-the-horrible-broken-netcode-for-dark-souls-on-pc Just a proof of how amazing the PC port for Dark Souls is.
StingingVelvet: Resident Evil 4 and Splinter Cell Double Agent are pretty much the only ones. Saint's Row 2 was until some modders fixed it.
SR2 is a fucking joke, the game doesn't work if you have a CPU with different clock speeds than the Xbox 360's one. And even with mods it doesn't really work properly.
You can add Prototype to that list. THat game just does not work on processors with HT enabled (which includes every i7 CPU). Activision didn't give a fuck about it.
Also, why didn't RE5 get the DLCs on the PC version? The DLCs for that game are actually pretty cool, but the PC version just didn't get it.
