Thats a promising find, I like it. Does it have text logs akin to MSN? Might be fun to assemble the full story at the end of the game

Copy/paste at the end of each session otherwise.
I'm in by the way, it's always fun experiencing new adventures. Setting doesn't really matter much.
The latest Order of the Stick comic devoted to Dave Arneson's death.
Dragonmech anyone? am i the only person in the world that actually likes that one? post apocalyptic world, check, steampunk, check, stompy steam powered walkers, check.
however everyone i have shown it too has not even been slightly interested :(

I personally never used it. I used its precursor, WebRPG, so it is anything like it, it is good.
ooooh are there any D&D worlds that have steampunk? That stuff rocks, it'd be awesome to make clockwork fighting robots as a replacement for golems or skeleton reanimation
Didn't Oberon, or something, the new setting on WoTC D&D did that?
Anyway, there are tons upon tons of RPG's out there, for every taste.
I personally would love to try Rifts or play my favorites, Mage (oWOD) and D&D 2nd ed Core Rules.

Aliasalpha: So Romulus, if you do run it, how do you plan to do it? All the dice rolls GM side or trusting the players to be honest about reporting?

I'm just preparing something at the minute, I'm going to post when its all ready. Essentially there will be three topics, one the RP thread, the second Out of Character to DM Discussion and the last one a Character Creation thread.
I'll explain how it'll work once I've written it all out and thought it over. Its going to work on a weird system I devised for forums so there will be no dice rolling as such.
Wait and see :) Its going to be cool.

Whatever you come up with, I'm in. I haven't been able to do any good RPG-ing in a long time, since no one I know is into it and my son isn't old enough yet.

Throdax: OpenRPG

That is so cool, I had no idea anyone had made anything like that. I'm going to have to mess around with it a bit later.

Not really in tune with the thread here, but felt like adding my two cents. I think pen, paper, and dice rpg's have been dying out for some time. The future of rpg's is in MMO's and its already here.

Eberron is kinda like that. In a nutshell (as best I understand it), the world had some advanced technologies wrought from great magic, but an epic war between Giants and Dragons brought the world into a sort of dark ages and a lot of what they could create and how to create it was lost (including how to create the Warforged, a PC race the setting introduced that are basically living automations created to fight in the war). One of the "drawbacks", if considered, is that the setting tried to make alignments more subjective (at least, I think that's the case). I don't think I can explain it very well, besides that the comments in the Monster Manual for alignments are more considered suggestions for the norm in Eberron, except where the setting specifically says otherwise (if it does).
In regards to a forum for doing a D&D campaign, I am an administrator at a general role-playing site (NewAyenee.org) that has one forum dedicated for table-top role-playing. The role-playing side of the forums kinda died a bit due to other issues, but some people are still active every once in awhile on the general chatter sections and could be coaxed back, given the right stimulus.
EDIT: Linked a Wiki article for Eberron, since it would do better to summarize the setting than I can.

PnP RPGs are not dying in the least nor are MMOs the "future" of RPGs. They generally appeal to a very different markets, though there is some obvious crossover in terms of who they try to target. Frankly, I consider MMOs to be the ruination of the RPG, since they have completely eliminated the whole idea of "role-playing" from the gaming experience. That may have less to do with the MMO itself and more to do with the people who play them, but the fact is almost no one in MMOs is actually role playing, which is a core part of the PnP experience (at least a good PnP experience).

MMOs are ideal for a certain type of RPG gamer, the powergamer. The kind who would gladly press the 'skip cutscene' button if tabletop games had them because it gets in the way of the manipulating the rules to max out their characters and kill more stuff in an attempt to get a pointless number higher than it was (totally unlike the forum rep here!).
To be honest, I'm damned glad that that type of gamer is probably playing WoW & they can piss off & never return for all I care. Now all we need is a way to get rid of anal rules lawyers and those people who get WAAAAY too into the game and we'll be set.
hmm, this sounds like it could be fun. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to get into tabletop gaming, or pnp rpgs. So count me in, as long as we have good rules and character sheets it should be a fun time at least.
