The HQ isn't in their service area?? Does that mean the ISP uses a DIFFERENT ISP for their internet connection?

Of course, it uses a corporate line, much more suitable for the kind of traffic we need.

Most ISPs in Denmark service both private and corporate customers.

Weclock: my ideas on breach of contract were just me guessing, I don't know for sure what happens, it's not my department.

So, what's the point of all that? You told me that you were working in the "piracy stuff" and now, it's not your "department"?
Odd... I really don't see what you're trying to prove.

breach of contract isn't my department, but I do handle DMCA notices.

Oh. So you've ever received DMCA notices, complaining about guys who have downloaded ROMs of 20/15-year old games?
I'm much more of a console gamer than a PC gamer. I like knowing for a fact that the game I buy is going to work and you get that assurance a lot more on a console than on a PC. I can't even count the number of PC games I've bought that haven't even installed properly. I use my PC mainly for older games or PC only games that look like they'll be really, really good. But if I had to choose between a PC and a console I'd choose console every time.

No, companies don't go after downloaders, but people sharing the file, and we have received notice for very old roms that were being shared.

Ok. So, IronChitlin doesn't have to worry.
Pfew, all that for... that. Subject closed, for me.

so yeah, if you use torrents or whatever, basically don't seed, try to use stuff that isn't as easily trackable, like say rapidshare or megaupload.
I have been playing more PC games than ever and I prefer to get games for PC over consoles generally. I think it maybe because I think this generation of consoles is probably the worst so far. Yes there are a few great gems such as Little Big Planet and Valkyria Chronicles but with the most popular games being FPSs (which I refuse to play on consoles. Crappy online and controls? No thanks!) and I can't see enough games I want to play on consoles (espically the Wii, which I haven't played in over 5 months).
My favourite console is still between the PS2 and PC though. It's funny when people say:
"How the hell can the PS2 be better than the PS3?"
More and better games and no online. It was a lot better when consoles just played games.
I like to balance out my gaming time between consoles, handhelds, and now PC games since I just put together a new tower.
The only thing I can be considered a "PC convert" on is Oblivion and Fallout 3. I got rid of the console versions of both games, and picked them up on PC instead. The numerous mods out for them make them both more enjoyable experiences on my PC than the vanilla console versions.

Someone that sees my point of view. :)
And yeah, newer doesn't automatically mean better. PS2 is definitely better than PS3 overall, in my opinion. Things are bigger and nicer looking but its much more expensive and the gems are few and far between.

x-arioch: Cost is the big reason. For as much as people complain about the cost of a PS3, it is less than a high end video card ( or a cheap desktop PC with a passable card ).

Not true! The really high end ones are generally about 300$ -- I managed to pick up a fabulous MSI R4830 for $100, which, overclocked, is more than enough for most games today and does the really demanding games well.
Also, the GPU in the PS3 is based on the GeForce 7800 architecture...buying one of those would be absurdly cheap, like, sub-50$ cheap. :P

No online? Yeah, except both LAN and online games did exists for it.
The smaller, newer, version of the PS2 also had the network interface built in, instead of needing an expansion card like the previous versions.

I used to be a hardcore, Nintendo console only guy, but recently all the games they've been making are either aimed at children, or those "insert task here" Mama games. I feel like my Wii is a child-oriented paperweight. Ever since, I've been on the PC and regret not having been here earlier. Definitely going to be using the PC more often. At least 'till they make Doom for the Wii or port Fallout to the DS.
