It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Wouldn't it be easier to just download some cracked version(or in the case of DRM Free a repackaged version). After all they put in all things you need to install there and they usually put some fun music in too :P.

You bought it anyways so there.

PaterAlf: I'm pretty sure this is all about regional pricing and we will see the game on GOG flat priced in two months.

I just wonder why they don't tell us and discredit their own (not even released) client instead.
Yeah - the lack of information about WHY this is happening the way it is is a bit off putting. The lack of information from two traditionally upfront and honest groups just throws fuel onto the idea that there is something a bit shadier going on behind the scenes.

Icinix: My thickest that I know of - is Star Wars Rebellion (or supremacy in Europe I think) - that thing is so thick I often mistake it for a highly decorated brick... AND the game came with an poster with all the ships and their numbers. That right there was quality manualship.

Lord_Britania: In better case we get a physical piece of paper folded into 4 (yes i'm looking at you wiiU games), in worst case not even a pdf.
Aww man - they're the worst.

You open up the case and there is this flimsy folded piece of paper and all I can think is 'Why did you even bother?'

JudasIscariot: We do speak with each other in the office but when it comes to technical issues like this, it's best to have everything in a central location so that we can determine, instead of assuming, both the scope of the problem and inform the proper department along with the information collected via support tickets about the problem.

In short, support tickets keep everything organized :)
avatar
fe79: Why then, after seeing so many customers complaining about this issue, did you not log a support ticket yourself? Instead you simply repeated your mantra "try the downloader" over and over again. To me, it felt a bit like listening to an outsourced support "technician" in India reading the lines from his response script.

Had you been just a little bit proactive, the problem could have been solved already. If you guys intend to expand your business with Galaxy and whatnot, you are going to really have to up your game with regard to support.
I only mentioned the Downloader twice, once to see whether it worked and once to see if there was an issue with having the Downloader mode turned on and the person attempting to download the game doesn't have the Downloader installed on their system.

The reason I asked for those affected to log a support ticket is because if there is a server-side issue with the downloads, we need to see exactly which region or regions are affected as we don't have just one server but several of them around the world, as is standard for a Content Delivery Network or CDN.

Niggles: wait
so those of us waiting to buy it get regionally priced AND wait two months??????????????...........

PaterAlf:

Niggles:
That's what we were all talking about. Divinity: Original Sin next to AOE3 and Witcher 3 is 100% regionally priced (although you get some coupons if you have to pay more in your currency according to the base price in USD) and the game is going to be released on 31st of August plus it seems you will need gog client for it. Everything besides the client things and release postponment was known since march this year.

I guess the hope here is that in 2 month it would be offered without regional pricing and that the Galaxy client isn't needed except for Multiplayer.

But GOG really doesn't make the whole thing very clear hence all the speculation.
So I haven't followed all pages of this thread, but I'm curious if this is anywhere close to correct and / or final:

- the public Steam version is released, with fully functional multiplayer
- the GOG version is only available for Kickstarter backers, and only the LAN / Direct Connect multiplayer works, the other form of multiplayer (server browser and what not) will be included in the GOG Galaxy version
- the public DOS release on GOG will be delayed until the release of GOG Galaxy which is on the 31st of August
- the public DOS version will likely have regional pricing
- rumors say that GOG can't disclose us detailed information because of an NDA with Larian, because the game is, according to said rumors, a 2-month Steam exclusive

Ganni1987: And when a proper version doesn't exist on GOG, I would still have to do it.

It isn't a lot of work if you know what you're doing, typically takes me around 30mins to finish the install script for 1 game. The first time I used the Inno Setup was around 2008 so I'm not exactly new to the thing.

Scene repacks are like a fast food pizza, you know it's good but you don't know what's in it exactly and those installers are made for everyone. When I repack a game I'm doing it just for myself, some games like to store the serial key in the registry and I usually include that during the installation so I don't have to enter it every time I install the game.

To me it's a fun way to keep my game library organized.

Amendment: The GOG version is only available for Kickstarter backers who have NOT reedeemed their Steam Alpha / Beta Key.

Although that should be resolved within a day.

NDA rumors or not, this sucks! :-(
It was also never mentioned by Larian in their Kickstarter campaign.

Yeah i can see it if it's fun to you to do that stuff, would just be too much hassle for me.

Nah, I haven't seen an official announcement for any of these. People in this forum just tend to be a bit paranoid...

...However, I still can't download my Kickstarter version of the game and I am as confused as you are about their eerie silence.

Here check this out for release date and kickstarter backers: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/coming_soon_divinity_original_sin/post77
Regional pricing for this game was already a done deal in the Going back to our roots thread.
Steam version is fully released - you can check it on Steam.

Everything he stated is confirmed (besides the NDA thing) and you can check it yourself.

*raises hand* Another backer here who cannot get their GOG (or eve Steam key) because Larian decided to change how to treat the keys.

Several people had already mentioned that using the downloader worked when the direct web download did not. The situation with having "Downloader mode" on without the downloader installed is something you guys could have (and should have) easily tested yourselves.

The reason I asked for those affected to log a support ticket is because if there is a server-side issue with the downloads, we need to see exactly which region or regions are affected as we don't have just one server but several of them around the world, as is standard for a Content Delivery Network or CDN.
So test them all. You have people working there whose job it is to test and fix things like this, do you not? Also, why were the download links not all tested automatically when the files were uploaded? If this is the level of technological "sophistication" we can expect from you guys, it does not bode well for the upcoming Galaxy client and its associated server-side software.

Seriously, the only response we should need to hear from you guys on an issue like this one is "The problem has been fixed".
