Matruchus: The only thing which I really don't understand why gog wen't with the decision to postpone release of the game for two months. Does gog actually have a marketing department? I mean to any person this seems as an insane decision.
I'd rephrase it. Was it coming from Larian, or it was GOG's decision? That much hopefully GOG can explain to us.

Don't think this was GOGs decision.

Let's hear it from GOG. If so, Larian will deserve the criticism here.

darewind: I came here to purchase Divinity Original Sin DRM free only to learn that your "optional" client is delaying the commercial release.Since I will need a client to run the game either way I will just purchase it on Steam.
Yeah, we should all have done this, there is no reason to buy this game from GOG if we still need a client to run it fully.... PLUS we'd have had the game by now, and everything would have been smoother for us, because it seems that the steam version of this is the version that Larian have made the prioroty, DESPITE the fact that it was suposed to be DRM-FREE from the beginning.

If this is a taste of things to come, I don't see me suppporting GOG anymore, if I ABSOLUTELY MUST use a client, I may as well use the one that provides me the most functionality and the one that will be suported first.

This is what happens after TET announces his decision to leave. He comes in after the "shutting-down" fiasco (which coincidentally got me more interested in GOG than before) and leaves just as a new bunch of problems show up. In between...brilliance. Perhaps GOG should ask him to stay, since he appears to act like a good luck charm for the company on the marketing front.

He is leaving in August. Check TeTs blog - there was no official announcement about it but he said there that he is leaving gog.

Can't find the link to it at the moment. Maybe somebody else can help out.

Same here.

This is becoming a rather sad joke.

It's probably a Larian/Steam dick sucking marathon... then again it could be a boneheaded decision by GOG to promote their stupid client, which as it seems less people are enthused about than GOG seems to think.

tfishell: I'm sorry you and the rest of the GOG team have been so tired and whatnot this past month, understandably so given the sale.

However, I do feel I must criticize the decision to wait for Galaxy to be up and running before a release to the public happens. Everyone is just going to purchase the game on Steam. Perhaps GOG will get some sales when the title goes on sale.
^ This. I seriously can't see that many people waiting for a public GOG release to make this a success story. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, but two months is a pretty long time. The concept of GOG Galaxy seems promising, but the execution might harm it.

I hope that no one at GOG or Larian scratches their heads if things don't go well sales wise.

They must have mistyped the name on the manual download card. Downloader works properly.
