I think the best way is to approach a girlfriend like she was a game herself. If she doesn't do everything you want, its time to install some mods.
I suspect that everyone is a potential gamer deep down, you just need to find a hook that drags them into our shadowy underworld. One day its a few games of solitaire, then a few turns of civilization (well few hundred turns, it IS Civ!) and before you know it she's chainsawing noobs in half in Gears 2 and trying to break the speedrun record for Fallout

Lol, I was heading to Iraq for the first time.... My then lady friend (the psyco stabber), and one of her chick friends (who i had dated a while back) and I went out, had some drinks.... Thankfully, I have pics/video :) but it was not all girl on girl :)
As I recall my ex (the other girl with whom i had been dating prior to the one who stabs) was pissed at me and said she was going to seduce my girl.... Which I TOTALLY had no problem with.... and well..... the psyco ex kept saying but what about him.... lol.................. GOD!

In some cases it would simply require too much time spent on convincing the person... with, most likely, mediocre results.
It's best when you can simply enrich a person's life with something they didn't expect they'd enjoy as much - i.e.: "show them the light" ;P.

Well the easiest way to increase the percentage in future years is for all of you male gamers to get your little sisters/nieces/cousins/daughters hooked on gaming at an early age.

You forgot the most important part! It will never truly be alive without being activated via lightning rod and nice flashy thunderstorm.

The sad thing is that some of them may actually lose interest in gaming as the time goes on...
