GameRager: Oh just stop it already. I get it, you're anti-piracy/crack to the point it's made you blind. No need to try and discredit me so much though.
And yes, it is right. You're promised the right to make a backup in your EULA btw, and to do that you have to crack the game or bypass the drm.
cjrgreen: Backups are for archival purposes. That clause is in there so you can back up your hard drive without turning everything on it into a copyright violation.
Access protection and copy protection are not the same thing. Access protection covers the right to make copyrighted material viewable or playable. Copy protection covers the right to make a copy, and it's well established that you have the right to make a copy.
Nothing says you have the right to use that copy to play the game, though.
The sad part of it is, publishers use attitudes like yours to justify DRM that is ever more draconian. So you need to get over the attitude that it is ever OK to use a crack.
Many do cd backups, and cd or HDD backup you still have to bypass the drm to make one. Thus the rub.
No, it's about the same thing to the industry you seem to be blindly loyal to....and again to make a copy that works you need to crack out the drm or bypass it. In order to do something that they allow you have to break one of their EULA clauses.
No, they use used sales to justify it...the piracy thing is just what they use to get more to believe their spin and remain loyal to the anti-piracy/anti-cracking side. And it isn't an attitude, it's my belief and opinion...just like it's yours that one shouldn't use such things.
Again if you have nothing but blind loyalty to the corporate side of this then please stop replying as it's pointless to try to convince me your opinions based on your moral set are right to follow.
